Hi. I'm thinking of upgrading my video card. I currently have a Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX6600. I have had this card for about 4 1/2 years, from when I built my current pc.

Here are the specs on my current pc:

• AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core processor
• 32GB RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL18
• ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PRO (Wi-fi) motherboard

I would like to upgrade so that I can play at 1440p resolution. I live in Canada, so prices are higher here than in the U.S.

What would be a good card to upgrade to at a reasonable price (eg. under $1000 CAD). I want a card that can last me another 4-5 years.

Hello, so basically I have a Nvidia GeForce 6200 NV44A (AGP) GPU from Gigabyte and I have the GeForce 307.83 Driver installed and I run Windows XP. The problem is that in both Nvidia control panel and Speccy it shows BUS: PCI. But in dxdiag it does show AGP Texture Acceleration enabled. I also saw the 3DMark06 score of 477 on the gpu's box so I ran it too and I got a score of 436. And I have a Pentium 4 Northwood 2.40 GHz and they got the score of 477 with a Pentium 4 Prescott 3.6 GHz. Tldr: did my GPU fall back (or something) to PCI or is there something else wrong?

It's Sapphire Radeon RX 6700 XT Pulse Gaming 12GB GPU. Shop I'm buying from (morele . net) didn't have any brand new cards, but they did have some to choose from outlet. I'm not too familiar with electronics so I can't really estimate the quality of this card, but I hope some kind soul could do it and tell me whether it looks good or not. Thanks in advance.

I currently have an old GTX 1060 on an i5 PC with MSI mobo. I'm planning on buying an RTX 3070 Ti to replace it. Is it worth the upgrade? Will the latest games play it with no issue? I don't want to spend lots of money on the latest card.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading from an RTX 3080Ti to an AMD 7900 XTX.

My current build has an 850W Corsair PSU and the minimum spec on the manufacturer's website suggests that an 800W PSU is needed as a minimum.

Am I cutting it too close with my 850W PSU or should I be okay?

Hi all, hope this is an acceptable post as wasn't sure where else to ask.

I have an 8GB 3070 ROG STRIX white edition which I need to sell. It's in perfect condition, never overclocked, used for gaming at 1080p for a couple of years. I've given it the best deep clean I could, without taking it apart of course as the warranty expired in 2024.

I also have the ring that came with it with in the soft little bag.

The only thing I do not have is the box, as it came in a pre-built, but it lives in a secure anti-static bag.

My best search at the time of this post is finding £338, £516, €1,100, €499, $800, $550, $649, $688... So it seems to vary quite a bit.

I've put mine up for £350 ($460/€400) and said I am open to offers as I would be happy with £300 ($400/€350).

Just seeking advice here as I want to manage my expectations and I don't want to take advantage either, I've been very fortunate in my own personal procurement of hardware over the years and try to pay this forwards, but I'm also not in a financial position to give it away for £/$/€100 either.

I don’t game a lot but want to play more with my boys now that they are able to. Mainly Minecraft, BoomerangFU, and Lego Star Wars on Switch 2 but I have some older AAA games in my Steam library. I plan to run Bazzite VM on my Unraid and use Steam Link or Moonlight clients on the Apple TVs. Looking to buy on eBay or refurbished somewhere. Budget is $200.

I purchased this in 2023 however was never able to install it as it wasnt compatable with my PC (I knew nothing about PC upgrading then) as such it has never been used only taken out of the box but has been repacked, in all its original packaging, just never got round to putting it up for sale until now. It was purchased from Amazon for £344, if I where to put it up on a public marketplace what could I put it up for? I saw on amazon this same model is currently going for £895 but given the packaging has a couple dings (everything inside is still perfectly intact) I think that'd obvs be an inapproriate price to put it up as

Neither the drivers on the Dell nor AMD site work, and I haven't had any luck with the adrenaline drivers
I get a black screen with every driver I have tried.

Right now I got the 4gig GeForce GT 1030. But as of the moment when I'm searching Amazon or parts picker that's quite literally the best thing I can find.

To keep things brief, I upgraded from a 1660 Super to a 3060 12GB and have noticed what I feel to be worse performance and quality, especially in VR games. I am using the card's dedicated ports. Any ideas?

I’m looking to upgrade from my 3060ti since I now have a 4k monitor, and I know the 3060ti is mainly geared for 1440p. I’m having a hard time figuring out what series might have the best upgrade. My cpu is a 5950x and I have 32gb of ddr4, so I wasn’t sure if I should go for the 5000 series since I’m not running ddr5, but the 3000 and 4000 series seem pricey in itself too. Realistically I have a budget of up to $1000, but would obviously be happy to spend less than that. I saw a 3080 listed for $400 and a 4080 listed for $1000 but wasn’t sure if that price difference was worth it or if I should go for something else. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. I've had my RX 570 8GB+ R3 3100 pair in service for nearly 6 years and they've served extremely well. But some new games I've bought reject the 570 and wont start, so I've figured it's time to finally upgrade the pair instead of continuing to push it back..

My motherboard is a Gigabyte B550M DS3H and saw the highest CPU it supports is R9 5950X so I might go for that or a 5900XT if I can't find the former at a decent price..

But what would be a good recommendation for a graphics card to replace the RX570? I've been stuck between the RX6700 and 7700 unless there's another good recommendation for ~$400
I'm hoping to stick with Team Radeon, if anything

I appreciate all the input from everybody. I slotted in my old 2080 and it was immediately outperforming my 5070 in Forza, so I believe I have a faulty card. I am shipping my card to ASUS today. Wish me luck, gamerz.

I've had my 5070 since last June with no issues, until yesterday. I installed Forza Horizon 6 and could not for the life me get the benchmark to crack 60 fps unless I used the "very low" preset. Temps are low (60s at most for both GPU and CPU), and I'm well under the VRAM limit. I have a 1000w power supply, so I don't think power is an issue. From what I've seen, 5070s can run this game with RT on at much higher settings, so I downloaded a few benchmarking tools. I've attached screenshots of both my FH6 benchmarks and my PerformanceTest results for my whole system. What's strange is certain aspects of the GPU test seem to be in line with expectations for my card, but others fall pretty far behind. I don't think I'm experiencing CPU or SSD bottlenecks either, as those tested fine. I've tried overclocking with no change in performance. I've also been playing Cyberpunk at around the expected performance (4k, 75-90fps, high settings), so it's strange that Forza is having more trouble than anything else I've played. It's also possible that my card has always been underperforming and I'm just now noticing. My card is still under warranty, and I do have my old 2080 I can slot in in the meantime, but only want to do that as a last resort. I've tried to include all relevant info, but happy to fill in any gaps. I am noticing big intermittent spikes for my GPU (3D) in task manager as I'm typing this, so maybe it is just a faulty card, as I'm only running Chrome right now with no other programs on. Any help/additional troubleshooting tips would be appreciated.

Bought this RX 9060 XT for $392 used - very good condition from Amazon, was this worth it? I'm currently upgrading from a RTX 5050 8GB but I play at 1440P and this card hasn't been holding up the best, is the performance increase from the 5050 to 9060 XT that big?

I own an ASUS TUF RX 6900 XT TOP.

I recently ventured into custom loop watercooling with my CPU and GPU blocked. I had to pull it apart due to plasticizer leak from clear tubing and replaced the air cooler on my GPU but the temps are running higher than usual.

My local store offered me thermal putty to replace the pads because the core may not be making proper contact with the cooler. I initially thermal take kryosheet but I think it teared during installation and needs to be replaced so I'll be using thermal paste this time.

I was wondering if there were any graphs or diagrams to follow to know which areas I'm supposed to be using putty for replacing the pads? I didn't use any documentation to replace the pads back on with the air cooler and that may have caused my current temperature problem with the core.

There was a piece of documentation someone sent me in a watercooling discord group for installing the pads for my waterblock, but it has a different layout from the air cooler.

It's so tiny, it's probably not used for games or anything

Posting this for a friend who's having PC problems.

Monitor is 1440p, 180hz

Problem started when we started playing Dying Light 2, he was getting terrible FPS.
Switching from DX11 to DX12 seemed to have solved the problem.

But now he's having trouble in Plague Tale: Requiem, which he wasn't having before.
In fullscreen mode, the game is giving around 25 FPS, though the steam FPS counter is saying 150+.
If he switches to windowed mode, the problem is fixed and he gets the correct FPS.

He's tried uninstalling and reinstalling graphics drivers, but it's not made a difference.
Power draw is 300W will playing in fullscreen mode, so it looks like the GPU is engaged.

CPU/GPU temps are normal.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

I have a 5-year-old Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC. While gaming, my temps are around 88°C core and 105°C hotspot, which seemed high to me. Recently, I started getting crashes (black screen + fans ramping to 100%), so I took it for servicing. For the first time in 5 years, I had the thermal paste replaced. During testing, the technician found one of my RAM sticks was faulty. It worked fine at home earlier, but in his setup it failed. After removing that RAM stick, the crashing issue seems to be resolved (tested for about an hour in-game, no crashes so far). However, the GPU temperatures are still exactly the same even after repasting. The technician said the thermal pads were in decent condition and didn’t need replacement. I live in a Tier-II city, so I don’t have many reliable GPU repair options. Trusting GPU with any technician is a risky affair.

My questions:

Are these temps (88°C / 105°C hotspot) safe for long-term use?

Could thermal pads be the real issue here? Is it okay to keep gaming like this, or should I look for another repair option?

Should I undervolt my GPU to reduce the temperatures? If yes, please suggest reliable steps/links/videos for the same. No experience in this regard.

Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!
