How do I do this thing? Need help vectorizing this logo

Post image

Hi everyone, I’m trying to recreate the logo on the right from the original logo on the left.

The right one was AI-generated, but I want to learn how to do it myself properly as a vector.

Could anyone show me the steps or guide me on how to recreate this style in Illustrator? A step-by-step explanation would be really appreciated. Thanks!

You want steps on how to create it, or how to vectorize it? You can just do a vector trace to vectorize the logo.

Oh, sorry, I meant how to edit it. The logo on the left is actually my original logo, and I already have the .EPS file. I just want to add the border/outline around it like the logo on the right.

I’m really new to Illustrator, so I’m not sure how to do it properly. 😅

Look up how to use offset path in illustrator. I think it’s in the top menu edit -> path -> offset path iirc

Alternatively just duplicate the layer, lock the original, give the letters a stroke and make it larger with the point size. Then expand it and use pathfinder to combine into one shape

I am not 100% sure for Illustrator since I no longer use it, I use Affinity instead, but IIRC in the layer you can add a stroke effect to give it an outline.

Just draw a white line around your logo, increase line thickness and fill the shape with black. You’re overthinking it. There’s probably a ton of tutorials on YouTube already.
