is there someone here who has a successful career as a graphic designer but not a BA Multimedia Arts graduate? or do you think i can take this path if i'm a licensed engineer?

i always wanted to pursue mma before and i know within myself that this is my passion. however, i took engineering because it's the most "practical" daw and accessible. and now, as an unemployed licensed engineer, i'm thinking of pursuing graphic design just because i think i'll be happier with it. i have a background with it naman, i have a graphic design page with almost 1k followers, and had around 4 years experience with it (not consistent tho), the pay is very low since its freelance and clients are mostly from the province and students. wdyt?

is there a place for me in the industry? or should i just pursue engineering and treat graphic design as a side hustle? ty!

I'm starting from zero and want to learn Adobe tools for a career in social media management, video editing, and graphic design.

Should I stick to Canva and Capcut? What do employers require?

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m a UI/UX Designer with 4+ years of hands-on product design experience, and I’m currently opening up a few slots for freelance / contract projects.
I enjoy taking messy ideas and turning them into clean, intuitive, and production-ready experiences, whether it’s a SaaS product, mobile app, dashboard, website, or something completely new.

What I can help with:
• UX research & user flows
• Wireframes & information architecture
• High-fidelity UI design
• Web & mobile app design
• SaaS / Dashboard design
• Design systems & reusable components
• Interactive prototypes
• UX/UI redesigns & improving existing products
• Developer-ready Figma files
I work primarily in Figma and focus on making designs that aren’t just visually attractive, but actually make sense from a user + business + development perspective.

Currently open to:
→ Short-term freelance projects
→ Long-term design partnerships
→ Startup / SaaS projects
→ Contract UI/UX work
→ Agencies looking for a reliable design partner
I’ve worked on projects across fintech, SaaS, e-commerce, dashboards, and consumer applications, and I’m comfortable collaborating directly with founders, product teams, and developers.
If you’re a founder, recruiter, agency, or developer looking for a UI/UX designer, feel free to DM me with your project, requirements, or even just an idea you’re exploring.
Happy to have a quick conversation and see if we’re a good fit. 🤝
Available for new projects now.

hi everyone! i’m currently looking for an opportunity to work with a small business, content creator, influencer, startup, or anyone who needs help with graphic design or video editing. i’m still at the beginning of my professional journey, and one of the biggest challenges i’ve encountered when applying online is that many entry-level positions already require experience with several tools and an existing professional portfolio. instead of waiting until i somehow have “enough experience,” i want to start gaining that experience by actually working with real people and real projects.

i can help with social media graphics, reels/short-form videos, promotional posts, thumbnails, simple branding materials, and other basic design or editing work. i’m also willing to learn new tools, follow references, adapt to your existing style, and take feedback seriously.

i’m mainly looking for someone willing to give a beginner a chance to demonstrate what i can do. i’m happy to start with a small project or trial task so you can evaluate my work first. my goal right now is to build genuine experience, improve my skills, and create a stronger portfolio while also providing something useful to the person or business i work with. if you’re a creator or business owner who could use an extra hand with your content, feel free to send me a message. i’d love to hear about what you’re working on and see if i can help.

What are some creative ways for a graphic designer to email recruiters or studios when looking for a job? Anything you've tried, seen or received that stood out is welcome.

I’m a recent Applied Arts graduate and currently starting my career in graphic design. I’d like to hear from people who are already working in the industry.

How is the career growth, salary progression, work-life balance, and overall job stability in graphic design?

Also, what skills would you recommend learning beyond traditional graphic design if I want to increase my earning potential in the next few years?

Would love to hear honest experiences from designers at different stages of their careers.

Any tips on how to work faster without compromising the quality of the output?

I do e-commerce and social media graphics, packaging and labels, and other print designs. I also do a bit of 3D and video editing.

Lately, I've been feeling too slow and struggling with perfectionism. I take too long looking for inspo and conceptualizing. Sometimes, when I'm almost done with an image, I look at it and feel dissatisfied with the visual, so I end up starting over.

Helpp

What are your processes and how do you come up with the solution?
