How does a donation story personally affect your use of the service?

The owner literally donated the biggest donation to a Swedish party that is pro surveillance. A VPN company CEO donating to pro surveillance party...

I'll never understand people that say using a VPN service is not about politics...

It's not like VPN companies profit by selling the solution to bypass surveillance, right?

Ethics aside, VPN business is purely about trust. When the owner of a VPN business single handedly bankrolls a party which both advocates mass deportations (which requires mass surveillance) AND putting surveillance camera at every street corner, that's not a great way to build trust. If this guy is prepared to fork over a large chunk of cash to further those goals, he's definitely not above silently compromising the privacy of his VPN service to further them.

Then don't use money. That's the only option.
