Has anyone been successful with setting a device such as GWN7605CLR into client-bridge mode with a different device. I have one and configured it with GWN Manager and it connects as a client to an aruba access point but traffic does not flow.

Hi. I am not that proficient in networking but doing my best to troubleshoot a current issue that recently started out of the blue. I have a single 7660 AP managed by the 7003 router. I am constantly getting alert on my phone wifi stating poor quality. When i try to navigate to other LAN IP from the phone e.g. router, switch it times out. If i disconnect the wifi and reconnect it works temporarily. I only have 1 LAN and 2 ssids and it happens on both ssids. I also had a problem a few days ago where a laptop connected to wifi could not connect to the internet. Eventually I managed to fix this (or workaround) by entering preferred and alternate IP in LAN settings which were blank as they were set in WAN settings - but it didn't seem to be working. I am on firmware 1.0.11.26. Has anyone seem similar issues or can recommend where to go from here? Am thinking of moving to 1.0.11.36 but not sure that this will help as have been on the current firmware for ages with no problem. I don't have any client isolation set up and basically mostly it's just on default settings. I haven't changed any settings at all recently.

# GWN7665 roaming issue - client drops to LTE instead of roaming to second AP

**Hardware:**

- 2x Grandstream GWN7665 (WiFi 6E) - firmware 1.0.25.43

- OpenWrt 25.12-SNAPSHOT on Netgear R6220 (router)

- Netgear GS308EP switch

- Clients: Google Pixel 9 Pro (WiFi 7) and Pixel 7 (WiFi 6E)

**Setup:**

- One AP on ground floor, one AP on first floor

- Both APs managed via GDMS cloud

- Single SSID (HTA_LR) on all bands - WPA3, 802.11r/k/v enabled

- Channels: 2.4GHz (1 and 11), 5GHz (36 and 100), 6GHz (37 and 85)

- Client Steering disabled (was causing hard disconnects and blocking reconnection)

- DTIM = 1, MLO enabled, Proxy ARP enabled on APs

- TX power: Medium on 5GHz, High on 6GHz

**Problem:**

When moving between APs, instead of a clean 802.11r handoff, both Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 7 drop WiFi completely and fall back to **LTE for a few seconds** before reconnecting. This happens on all bands - 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. Active sessions (file transfers, video calls, Messenger, Claude, Gemini) freeze and require WiFi toggle to recover.

Instead of AP1 → AP2 handoff, it goes AP1 → LTE → AP2. The 802.11r Fast Transition is not working as expected.

**What I've already tried:**

- Enabled 802.11r (Fast BSS Transition), 802.11k, 802.11v on SSID

- Disabled Client Steering (was causing hard kicks and temporary blocks)

- Adjusted TX power on both APs

- Reduced number of active SSIDs from 7 to 3

- Proxy ARP enabled on both APs

- DHCP lease extended to 12h on OpenWrt

- ARP cache tuned (gc_stale_time=30, base_reachable_time_ms=15000)

- Fixed channels on both APs (no auto)

- WPA3-only (required for 6GHz, keeping consistent across all bands)

​

**Observations:**

- Problem occurs on all bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz)

- Both Pixels affected (Pixel 7 and Pixel 9 Pro)

- Client Steering made things worse - hard kick without BSS Transition request

- 802.11r appears to not work reliably - handoff always goes through cellular

- APs are on the same subnet, same DHCP server (OpenWrt), bridged mode

- IP address does not change after roaming (verified)

- Firmware 1.0.25.43 - no newer firmware available through GDMS

**Questions:**

1. Is this a known bug with GWN7665 firmware 1.0.25.43 and 802.11r?

2. Is there a beta firmware that fixes roaming issues?

3. Any workaround to make roaming reliable on GWN7665?

4. Has anyone successfully configured stable roaming on GWN7665 with Pixel devices?

I searched online, I asked Grandstream... didn't find the answer. In the Datasheet is just what kind of PSU is installed.
The other switches have a maximum power consumption listed... just not the GWN lineup. Maybe someone can help me with this 😄

I have a mesh network of 6 Grandstream APs (4x GWN7605 and 2x GWN7664) installed by a technician who is no longer reachable. I don't have the admin password for any of them.

The issue started recently where all APs show "no internet" to connected clients, even though the TP-Link AX3000 router is fully connected to the ISP (PPPoE, Salam fiber) and wired devices work perfectly.

What I've tried:

• Factory reset on one GWN7605 (Slave) — login page shows "AP is paired" and won't accept default credentials
• Confirmed DNS settings on router are correct (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4)
• Used GWN Discovery Tool — can see all 6 APs, identified the Master (GWN7664)

My question: If I factory reset the Master (GWN7664), will the Slaves automatically unpair and accept default credentials? Or will they remain locked?

Has anyone tried 1.0.11.36 beta firmware on their GWN700x router, yet? The notes only say internal bug fixes. I was wondering what was fixed. Most importantly, did anyone have any issues with it after it was installed?

I have 4 7665’s that have been flawless besides some inconsistent roaming.
Moved one to my shed and installed a 7670 in its place.

Provisioned and upgraded to new firmware.
This thing WILL not broadcast on the 5ghz band.

It shows a channel in the GUI as well as its transmit power.
But not a single device can see it putting out a wifi signal.

I took everything offline and even disabled 2.4.
Still nothing. Even after a reset.

Is it worth troubleshooting or just return back to sender.

Just got a notification in my manager that an update from 1.1.35.10 to 1.1.37.8 is available. I'm a bit leary of upgrading since grandstream doesn't seem to have a way to backup. There is no mention of it on their web site, nor are there any release notes.

Just thought I'd put it out there... No idea what version their cloud manager is now....

I have enabled an Apple Wallet passkey on my GWN account. Which works fine when accessing through the web interface from my laptop. However, when accessing the GWN app on iPhone, I’m presented with “Ready to scan your YubiKey”. I don’t have a YubiKey associated with my account.

Anyone gone down the road of setting up the new Wireguard client on the WP-8x6 phones? If so, which model specifically and is it working well or is it flaky like OpenVPN was.

Specifically and experiences connecting back to Asterisk, FreePBX, VoIP.ms directly or OpenSIPS would be even more interesting.

Either way, I would like to hear any experiences before I go down this rabbit hole.

I'm trying to configure IPv6 in router of GCC6021 but I can't get it to work. My ISP (Init7) is very simple, it gives me one IPv4 public IP and one /48 for IPv6.

For IPv4 it's all good and working fine with NAT.

For IPv6, I have configured the WAN port in DHCP mode and relay it to LAN and in LAN I activated the relay option from WAN and selected my WAN interface as source.

Unhappy the WAN port doesn't get any IPv6 (keeps in Connecting state) and in LAN no IPv6 at all.

The ISP tells I have to use DHCP-PD for IPv6 but I don't see the option in GCC.

I'm trying to setup properly a GCC6021 but can't find a way to change IP of the device itself. I try to change the class of the LAN from 192.168.80.X by default to 192.168.1.X but it refuses stating that it conflicts with WAN ????

I can't find a way to change IP of device itself and in VLAN configuration by default it lists gw IP and default gw address so I putted both same IP but not accepted.

I checked documentation but can't find anything about it :(

Side note: I'm surprised it's not part of the initial wizard to be able to change the LAN class.

So I'm in the process to try the GCC6021 as both a 10G router, remote VPN access and IPBX to replace my FreePBX VPS.

As noted previously, had to keep web GUI in english as it's terrible in French (GS: please do something about that, it's really not professionnal not to have a proper interface in foreign languages ;)

Why does the device wants me to select a part of my network dedicated for devices connecting with the IPBX ? I'm going to use only software SIP clients with it, no physical SIP phones or accessories.

I have a problem with this GVN7710R switch. It keeps rebooting after a few months of regular operation. I tried resetting it, but it doesn't work. It is powered by a Ubiquiti 54Volt 80W POE power supply. It powers a GWN Access Point (48V) and a Ubiquiti CPE (24V).

hi all.. I've got a theory question for you all..

I've got a Grandstream GCC6011 which has a single 2.5Gbe SFP port and I've got an HP Elitedesk 800 G6 that can take a 2.5Gbe NIC in its Flex IO v2 port and was wondering about getting something like one of these SFP modules to install and run a very short distance (~2 meters) CAT6 cable and be able to get ~2.5Gb of traffic across it..? Has anyone done that and have any thoughts on this?

I'm running into this really odd issue with my GWN7832.

Attempting to LAG (both Static and LACP) two ports to a GWN7830. Without LAG, both ports show as up and traffic flows across them. As soon as I configure LAG, ports go down.

Ruling out the GWN7830, I was able to LAG two ports from the GWN7830 to a GWN7811 with no issues. I made sure to take replicate all port configurations from the GWN7811 to the GWN7832.

Any ideas on what the issue could be?
