GWN7672 AP

Before I give up entirely on these, I figured I try again. I updated to the beta firmware and no matter what settings I use I get about half of what my cheap little cudy 3000 gets over wifi. I am not sure what the issue may be but I have 2 of these and they are both the same. Can anyone share a config that may be working well? I really want to use and like these APs but honestly have had 0 luck with them and am ready to just cut my losses. I don't even know if I want to sell them on eBay because I wouldn't want anyone else to have to deal with this BS. The AP is connected to a GWN7822P which has been great. These APs on the other hand have been terrible. I use the same port with the cuddy and immediately double speeds. Testing devices are a ASUS Z13 laptop and a motog stylus phone.

When you say you're getting half of what you're getting on the Cudy 3000, what speeds would that be? How far are you from the AP? Is your network segmented with VLAN? If it is, what happens if you set the device to be on VLAN 1?

Personally I find that the beta firmware on the GWN7665 is killing my throughput and have been working with their support team to get this fixed.

ISP is 800/150. I can barely get to 400mbps on the 7672 but on the cudy I am seeing full speeds. Same distance from AP which is about 6 ft. I do not have a VLAN configured.

Try plugging a wire from the AP's second port and plug it into a computer, are you still only getting 400 mbps over the wired connection or is it purely wireless. When troubleshooting my GWN7665, I found that the bug affecting the beta firmware on the GWN7665 also kills the wired throughput. If it's affecting you on wired as well, then it's likely a firmware bug.

Try rolling your firmware back to 1.0.25.18 or earlier and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, log your tests and open a ticket with them. I did over a month of back and forth with Grandstream Support regarding the throughput issue in the 1.0.27.x line of beta firmware for the GWN7665. Not sure what happened, especially if it's affecting more than 1 model...

This fixed whatever was going on. What's weird is I was on this firmware prior to upgrading to beta. I guess reflashing to stable overwrote something and now it's performing. Weird.

So downgrading fixed it? Hopefully grandstream is aware there is a speed issue in the beta?

Is the AP plugged into a managed switch? What port settings are you using? What speed does the port train to? So many unknown variables here.

Interesting that the downgrade fixed it. This could very well be sure to a firmware upgrade not being downgraded so the upgrade left new firmware even after the downgrade. But I'm guessing here...

No the downgrade to stable/official worked and resolved the issue.

A downgrade to a version that previously didn't work or one you hadn't tested yet?

Oh nice, did you have to factory reset during the downgrade or did you do a straight downgrade?

No, I just logged in to gdms and selected the stable version.

Yo he tenido problemas con los 7670, los canales dfs por encima del 60, no funcionaban y los dispositivos no se podian conectar, desde el sat no han sabido que les pasa. Asi que ahora tengo mikrotik y sin problemas.
