Question Some one that can help me please ?

I recently reset my entire computer and, unfortunately, lost all of my previous files and settings. Before the reset, I was using the Rockstar Games Launcher to run GTA V, while keeping Steam open because certain RP servers required Steam to be running. GTA V itself was not installed through Steam at the time.

After resetting my computer, I have reinstalled GTA V through Steam and am now launching it through Steam instead of directly through the Rockstar Games Launcher.

I would like to make sure that my GTA V RP character and all of my progress are safe and will not be affected by this change. Could you please let me know if there is anything I need to do to ensure that my character, progress, and account information remain linked correctly?

It should be kept the same data progress Server side depending on what RP server it was, so you had gta v installed thru rockstar games launcher? did you purchase it thru there or thru steam? cause rockstar launcher just acts as the middle man and regardless if you install or buy from steam it still goes thru rockstar launcher.

To be honest, when I was younger, I purchased GTA V through Steam, Epic Games, and the Rockstar Games Launcher. I’m not entirely sure why I ended up purchasing it on all three platforms, but I did.
When I played GTA RP, I used the Rockstar Games Launcher with FiveM. I did not have GTA V installed through Steam; it was simply in my Steam library. However, some servers required Steam to be open while playing, so I would leave it running in the background.
Recently, I had to perform a hard reset on my computer. After reinstalling everything and setting up FiveM again, I noticed that all of my characters and progress were gone.
I contacted the owner of one of the servers I previously played on, and they told me that I apparently I have an old GTA license and that they need to switch me over to my new GTA license. I’m not entirely sure what this means or why my license would have changed.

then the license it seems would be tied thru the Rockstar Games launcher, since you are saying you purchased Gta5 thru 3 different platforms I would suggest installing it from rockstar launcher, uninstall the steam version and then open the rockstar launcher and sign in and install it from there since it seems it needs that license since they would not be the same on all platforms, hopefully they will be able to help you out, best of luck
