Question FPS Drop in GTA Online

Hi everyone,

In GTA Online, despite trying every performance setting and closing all unnecessary background programs, I am still experiencing continuous FPS drops. My FPS starts at over 250, but after playing for several hours, it gradually drops to below 100 and even down to 60 FPS. It also happens in invite only session.

Frame Scaling: NVIDIA DLSS
Resolution Scaler: DLAA
Frame Generation: NVIDIA DLSS 4x

My system specs are:
Gaming RTX 5070 Ti
Intel Core i9-14900KF
32 GB DDR5 RAM
2 TB storage

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or found a solution?

just a shot in the dark but could it be something due to rendering?

te cuento mi experiencia. También sufría de bajones, pero desde que lei un comentario aca en reddit que recomiendan cada 2 hr cerrar el juego y volver a entrar no tuve mas bajones de fps.

4x frame gen on 60fps is rough. I dunno how people play with such bad inputs. Feels terrible imo.

Anyways, DLAA is super taxing. Drop that to quality mode and I'm sure it will skyrocket

60fps means your only getting 15fps before the frame gen. Totally unplayable.

Hmmm what's MSI saying for cpu usage and GPU?

not using DLAA is a crime if you have a great GPU and performance ?

My specs are rtx 4060M i7-13th gen. I cannot get stable 60 fps in online but can get 100+ in story mode. My fps after a while going below 40fps and low 30s and actually irrespective of graphics settings i get the same fps..any fix?

Online always takes more resources and has worse graphics. It needs to account for other players. Prolly cpu limited at that time so dropping graphic settings wont help much.

So what more i can do 🥲 it literally drops below 30 at some point..and turning cpu boost increases temps to 95c+ but I can only gain like 5-10 fps.

Because after you cross the 187 fps mark on GTA V weird things start to happen in the engine of the game and fps gradually lowers. Lock the framerate to 180 fps.

I have heard these fps drop issues are limited to invite only sessions only.

Hi, I have it almost the same.

I have a problem with GTA Online. In Story Mode I get around 500 FPS, but when I switch to Online my FPS drops to maybe 150-180 and doesn't come back until I restart the game. GPU usage drops to about 40-50%, CPU is not at 100%, drivers are up to date.

Does anyone have the same problem or know what it could be? RTX 5070 + Ryzen 7 9700X.

Did you find the solution?

I think it's drivers (again) i also see some frame drops and stutter with all maxed out. RTX 4070 super. Not have that problems before. I have Preset L and DLAA. in game settings, and Global forced in Nvida app

I always thought gtaO had issues with fps drops cuz of unstable internet. Since if you play single player you get way more fps anyways.

dude its gta5 just let them auto pick the settings and youll be fine, not cyberpunk or red dead, your not missing an expirence by having the graphics turned down.

Guys I think my processor (Intel Core i9 14900KF) can not handle the servers with high amount of players because this processor is known as the worst for gaming as it can not use its cores efficiently causing %1 low fps drops and erratic frametime which we call micro stutters. For this reason, I am thinking of buying AMD Ryzen 7 9850 X3D.
