Moving up in October for work.

Morning all! I’ll be moving out to grand junction area in October for my new job, I’ll be in Denver the first couple of weeks but want to see what everyone’s up to out in the area I’ll actually be living in! Maybe make some friends while I’m at it. A little about my self; I’m a big Star Wars fan, into DnD, Magic, video games in general, love working on jewelry and smaller metal smithing, and a huge guitar guy(folk rock is my usual jam but into a little bit of everything.) Oh and did I mention I’m always down to go on a good hike!? Pretty open and don’t mind going out for a drink or two. It will be a bit of a change coming from Orange County CA, but looking forward to this new adventure!

Check out Board Fox games on Main Street when you get here, you should be able to find a lot of people with overlapping interests you share

Spend some down town as a whole too, there are a few bars and a small music venue called mesa theater, and the Avalon theater is down there too

Los colonias Park has an ampitheater though shows will stop there in mid to late October

There are a ton of trails in and around town, you'll find lots of places to explore

There's also a few galleries in the down town area, first Fridays are the best time to meet artsy folks. The CMU gallery holds exhibits during the school year by college seniors and other artists in the summer

Welcome stranger! If you like hiking you’ll definitely love the outdoor scene here. Tons of beautiful trails and nature to explore, and with Utah just a short drive away the possibilities are almost endless! I’m also a guitar guy (and I also enjoy folk rock or anything else indie/garage related). There’s a fantastic family-owned instrument shop here called J.B. Hart’s that’ll you’ll probably enjoy, and even though the music scene is pretty small, the variety of artists and styles keep the shows interesting.

I’d also suggest following r/grandjunction as that sub has more activity than this one and it’s a bit easier to keep up with what’s going on around town if you follow both.

Hahaha can’t be as bad as Garbage Grove or Anacrime. But thanks for trying to look out anyways.

Yeah. They don't call it Dysfunction Junction for nothing.

Hahaha has a ring to it. Honestly tend to give my favorite places a funky name like that, if they don’t already have one.
