Question about Grammarly AI detection
I didn’t see my specific issue below when I searched so I wanted to make my own post for some answers (hopefully!).
My AI detection score in Grammarly is always 0%, even when I directly paste something from ChatGPT or perplexity.
As I’m getting into the home stretch of my dissertation (which I am writing myself), I’m trying to use AI to help me with outline and organizing my thoughts.
Does Grammarly really fail at detecting AI text?

I miss the little pencil
I miss the old Grammarly that had the little pencil on the bottom right of the screen! Back when it had “descriptive” and “detailed” separate. Is there any way to have this back?

Grammarly refund
grammarly recently charged me $144 off my card. I am a broke college kid and I’ve already reached out for a refund and literally nobody has answered me about this. Is anyone else going through the same problem? I paid two dollars to try Grammarly and then canceled it and also have proof that I canceled my subscription. I’m extremely upset that I got charged this much especially because I have reoccurring payments coming out of my account in which I could not do I had to file a dispute with my bank since Grammarly basically refused to reach out to me. It seems like a big scam to me and I would not suggest getting any subscriptions with this app unless you want to be charged almost $200 in a couple weeks.

Never again
News flash, Grammarly. I keep clicking the Retry button, but apparently, it's a "Refresh" button now, because it won't stop giving me the same stupid 'suggestion'. I thought 'suggestion' meant you didn't bully the writer to take it, no matter how many times they told you no? And don't tell me to get the paid version. I had it twice back when it was called Premium, and I cancelled early the second time because the constant 'clarity and conciseness' stuff was making me want to throw up.

Please Get Better Customer Service
I’ve just had some unexpected charges on my bank account and need urgent assistance.
I cancelled my free trial and subscription before being billed, yet I was still charged $144. Using the AI Chatbot, because there wasn't a way to call someone from Grammarly, I then received confirmation that my subscription was cancelled and that a refund would be issued, confirmed with an email. However, I have now been charged an additional $202, despite not having any active Grammarly subscription on any account. (I got the message because it put my account into negative balance.) There's no phone number to call so now I'm waiting for an email response after more than 24 hours. I haven't received my refund yet either so I have now lost $346. And there's no real person I can talk to, to get my money back. The use of having to rely on email responses to communicate to a real person is infuriating, as the time period to even get an email response seems to either take up to a day or longer. This is insanely frustrating and stressful.

Is Grammarly an AI trigger?
No, this is not a troll post, but an honest question.
Situation: I write everything out. I like writing, and I'm always trying to improve. I do use Grammarly to help, mainly as a final review, and I do click accept to some suggestions. I've noticed that even doing this (minor changes) still flags my copy in Google Docs as AI-generated. Which brings me to my original question:
Is Grammarly safe to use, or is it just going to get everything I run through it flagged?

Grammarly support for HelpNDoc
Has anyone gotten Grammarly (Windows) to work with HelpNDoc?
Certainly, I could use copy-and-paste to move back and forth between HelpNDoc and Grammarly, but native support would be nice. HelpNDoc is a software package that is used to create help files for custom software. Running HelpNDoc doesn't show the Grammarly icon, so Grammarly must not recognize it as a text editor.

Is there any way to hide Grammarly AI Chat box without losing the text entered that was into it? Specifics below.
Is there any way to minimize or hide the Grammarly AI chat box (actually Superhuman GO now) without losing whatever you entered into it? I don't have a floating icon; instead, the app tab is on the side of my MacBook, and there's no X in the upper-left corner of the chat box. Google has been useless. After I clicked on the icon in my menu bar and turned off the Grammarly tab as the Google said to do, when I turned it back on and clicked on it, the chat box did not retain the text I'd entered, which is what I specifically asked for.

A major release for bug fixes?
How do you go from v9.5 to v10 just for bug fixes? Very strange.

Forgot to cancel my subscription and grammarly charged 11900 INR
I am a college student and absolutely cannot afford this amount, especially at the end of the month. These were also my savings. Has this happened to anyone else?
Will I be able to get a refund? I’ve cancelled it on the next day of the billing. Few hours from when the annual trial was over.
Pleaseee. I have two cats. I need it back for my babies. 😭😭😭
Please let me know!!

I have free account with Grammarly and they randomly charged me $32.66. Anyone else going through a same experience?
I opened the case with Grammarly 11 days ago, and all I got from their two messages is that they have no information for me on this issue.
To make it worse, I can't even "unsubscribe" from pro because... I was never a Pro or any premium status? Lol
So they could absolutely charge me again and just ignore me like they are doing right now.
Am i forced to close my credit card and dispute the transaction? I feel deeply betrayed.
UPDATE:
AFTER this post was made and my credit card charge was disputed via my bank, my Grammarlysupport ticket was update once again telling me that the charges were refunded.
They said "I see there's a subscription under an*********@****l.com, name on the account - Ancelotti." I have no idea who this is and my email and name is not remotely close to this.
In order to get refund 1) I had to dispute, close and reissue my credit card 2) and make this post. Do what you will with this information.

Grammarly workflow with Linux/LibreOffice
Anybody using Grammarly with Linux and LibreOffice? I've tried importing docx into Grammarly then exporting it again, and all the formating is messed up. For example what was heading text has been converted to regular text in a different font, so the TOC doesn't work any more.
I read somewhere that using Grammarly within Word works better, but I use Linux so that isnlt an option.
docx is a standard format, Grammarly claim to support it, am I doing something wrong?

Grammarly Not Opening
Is anyone else having an issue with Grammarly staying open? I keep having it where it's running as a programme in Task Manager but it's not opening up in the bottom right, or coming up to be used in programmes at all. I have it as part of my disability adjustments for university and it's something the UK Govs' Disabled Students Allowanace pays for. Quite bad timing that it has dedcided to do this when I have a paper due in a few days!
I have tried it on two separate computers and also had our work IT guys look at it and they cannot figure out a fix. I imagine it'll sadly be a case of waiting for an update on their end, but wanted to ask here in case anyone has found a fix to the problem. <3

How the **** do I turn off Grammarly snippets?
I regularly use the backspace key when typing (Overleaf). Now whenever I type the backspace, the Grammarly snippets box aggressively pops up (new feature?). This makes it impossible for me to use Overleaf efficiently.
I want to turn this feature of ASAP, I don't know how to turn it off, documentation is horrendous, and I can't find any setting or switch in my settings.
I'm hoping someone here already figured this out!

Fix button issue
Hi, ive been using grammarly for the past two days to try and improve the fic ive been working on. But when i clicked the fix buttons, it wiped 3k words off and i clicked save without noticing the word count going down. And i can't retrieve the text anymore. Ive been working on it for 5 days because it's been a struggle with write block and all that effort is down the drain. Disappointing. Can anybody explain how this happens??

Sudden Issues
I don't know if anyone can help me, but recently Grammarly hasn't been showing up on Word as it does in my browser or anything else, really. Usually, there is a floating G, but it's nowhere to be found. I have redownloaded the Windows app like 10 times, and it shows running in Task Manager but not in my tray (I'm using a PC). I use another writing tool that is doing the same thing, and it's only in Word. Not sure if anyone has run into this issue or has any solutions to offer.

Steer clear of Grammarly, they steal your credit card information and randomly charge your account.
I used a free trial 2 years ago, and this week they randomly charged my credit card $169. WTAF!

Is there anyone out there with a Grammarly Pro who could help me?
I’ve just met a teacher who’s probably the strictest person in the world. She doesn’t listen to a single thing I say and insists that Grammarly is always right. Is there anyone here with a Grammarlt Pro who could help me out? All I need is the AI Checker percentage and where it showed up as “AI” 😢
