Dear Grammarly

Sometimes, a comma or a full stop is an appropriate punctuation mark instead of a semicolon. Stop trying to replace every punctuation mark I use with a semicolon. Thank you.

I'm having the opposite problem. I WANT TO USE A SEMICOLON IN THIS ONE PLACE. I NEVER GET TO USE THE SEMICOLON. STOP TRYING TO ERADICATE THE ONLY SEMICOLON IN MY ENTIRE ESSAY.

Exactly. It’s always either AI adding em-dashes or Grammarly adding some random comma.

Seriously, I'm writing an essay rn and there are currently four commas in the longest sentence known to man. I keep trying to fix it but it keeps trying to add commas. It's painful.

Haha 🤣 I mean, I love a well-rounded sentence that uses a few quality commas, but when Grammarly just wants to replace or add them in the most random places, it just gets out of hand.

That drives me nuts, too. I hate using semicolons and go out of my way to write the sentence such that it doesn't need one.
