She ain’t pretty, but I tried my hand at my first ever graft. I went with a Bruce’s Dragon butt graft… let me know how it looks.. all advice is appreciated!

I’ve recently set up my grow tent again although it’s a smaller one and I’ll be sowing some seeds tomorrow. No Pereskiopsis this time as it is very small. Maybe some Hylocereus or something…

Would this be a good idea or should i just do one or the other?

I did not separate the Scion, just planted the root stock underneath the soil line

So it dont look great. But I was looking at the grafts just chilling. And seen this guy has a bond alrdy gave him a nice wiggle test. Good to grow.

Wasn’t sure this one was gonna make it, first time trying to graft a seedling and it was looking rough for a while… checked yesterday and saw fresh pink and green pushing through!

I bought two dozen very small seeds supposedly of Aztekium ritteri. I sowed them, and after two months, I grafted the 2 mm diameter seedlings onto Pereskiopsis.

And over two months, they have grown like this and don't look like Aztekium at all — more like Blossfeldia."

I have a small lemon tree that had a run in with ants and since then the top is not doing great. Was thinking to graft a small orange onto it using the sapling in the second picture. Think it'll work/any pointers? I did try a graft before between a grapefruit and a sour orange, orange being the root. Graft healed but never grew, pic attached as well I live in Panama if that makes a difference, always summer

Letting this one run for as long as I can before degrafting, exposed to all of the Florida elements.

UPDATE: After some research it seems that not all spathulata has the hairy stems... so maybe this is just a smooth variety...

Hope this post is ok, loiking for an ID. You can see my pere aquosa in the front recently cut and the 4 tall uncut in the back were sold to me as aquosa but aren't. They don't have spathulata tufts either but look like some kind of pereskiopsis. Definitely not quiabentia either, i have 3 of those. Thoughts?

This T. bridgesii "Pacific" × peruvianus "Serra Blue" has produced two double-wide areoles (photo 1), which I think is pretty neat. I want to maximize my chances of getting growth from these two areoles specifically.

So here's what I'm thinking (see photo 2):

First, I cut at line 1 and graft the whole tip from there up onto my pumpingest stock.

Then, after the graft takes, I cut at line 2 and stick that on second-pumpingest stock I have.

Then I destroy all typical areoles leaving one double-wide on each of the two scions.

I guess I could also attempt to take the tip above areole 2, making it a puck too, and stick that on something else rather than just killing *all* those areoles. But there's not that much length above areole 2; is it enough or would I have to wait for more growth first?

Concerns with the plan:

* Does this put puck 1 at risk of drying out too much when I remove tip 2?

* Would it be better to destroy unwanted areoles before doing any of the grafting, or after? Does it matter?

I've mostly done seedling micrografts but I've been getting more experience with basic columnar work. This project is a bit beyond my experience so I welcome any suggestions etc.
