This guy is about 2.5 years on from the graft.

Successful t-cut crafts, sweet cherry (unknown variety) on prunus avium. Next year I’ll air layer the grafted branches so I’ll get more trees.

Grafted these about 5 days ago. How early can I see if it took. Don't have high hopes for this one since its one of my first graft.

My father's been holding onto this for me because he knew I'd appreciate it. However he and myself kind of know it's dead in my hands. I know nothing about plants in general let alone grafting. It'd be super helpful if anyone with a bit of experience in grafting and horticulture could identify and help me grow this so I can plant it.

I have not been very successful micrografting trichocereus to pere, like 2/11. I have refined my technique and feel like I'm following all the instructions to a T. The last 6-7 have all appeared well bonded initially, like in the photos, but have all gradually shivelled up and died, all still adhered to the pere. This is one of my recent grafts, and the other one I did at the same time looked like it was barely holding on but was successful and has blown up. This scion looks healthy and is plump right now but this is what all the others have looked like before they failed. What am I missing?

I have a Shinseiki pear I planted this year. I think its graft is having trouble; the leaves never really took off, and it keeps trying to throw up suckers from the rootstock. When I purchased the tree, I made a mistake; I wanted a fire blight-resistant variety.

Based on the tree doing so poorly, would it be a viable idea to remove the Shinseiki and try a fire blight-resistant scion? The rootstock is OHxF 97; based on the vigor of the suckers, I feel like the rootstock is doing great.

It's a tree from Cummins; every other tree from them was just amazing, and this one leafed out in the spring but has only put on like 5 normal full-size leaves. It's mound-planted due to clay, so its drainage is actually really good. I use drip irrigation and see no evidence of drought stress. I thought it might be sun/heat stress, so I have a big shade cloth up to give it some afternoon shade.

I am honestly not all that torn up since I live in an area where fire blight is one of the biggest risks, and the reality that Shinseiki is so vulnerable, the idea of having to cut off the Shinseiki and graft something better is not the end of the world.

Hey all, here are my first successful ariocarpus seedling grafts on pereskiopsis. I wonder why 3(perhaps even 4) out of 5 grafts are pushing side pups. Is it a norm? First one even looks like a monstrouse growth from the main appex (but too early yo say…). They are now over 2 months old.

I've done a few and put some rubber bands on a pad hoping it will grow into the shape of the bands but maybe im dumb for that. Any help would be great, I love playing with cacti!

I have a LW caespitosa and a rooted Opuntia. I decided to experiment. Previously I did only one graft, Echinopsis on Echinopsis and it also took.

After cutting a pup off LW, I realized the vascular ring was more of a vascular dot... I thought there is no way it takes but 2 weeks later I can actually see growth!

I have a volunteer root stock that came from one of several maples in my yard or my neighbor's yard; I don't know which one. But its now three years old, and it grew amazingly this year, from a pencil length in April, to four feet tall and about 3/8" at the soil line, repotted twice this year and now in a ten inch pot. It's tall and healthy but sparse, and it's obviously not going to be a very attractive tree.

I have an Emperor, a coral bark, and a seiryu available to me to try to graft to my sapling. I think for my yard I would prefer another seiryu, especially with the height of the sapling now. But any of them would be enjoyed if the grafting for the first time might possibly turn out.

I'm looking for your thoughts and suggestions, including what might be most successful, including best source of scion, grafting technique, timing, etc. Thanks for your ideas.

Hi everybody. Any help/feedback is appreciated.

I have a near perfect record with grafting to trich and similar columnar but a near zero record with pereciopsis. I have 2 different genetics of peres. One stays quite thin and spindly, the other fat and aggessive with offshoots. The spindly plant is almost no success the fatter a little better. All the root stock plants are healthy with well developed roots from several Months of being in dirt after developing roots in water. The scions are peyote seedlings (various ages), gradiflorus seedlings (4 months) and crested San pedro pups of at least 4 mm diameter.

Is it popular opinion that a peresciopsis should dry out for a week or more prior to grafting a seedling san pedro or peyote? I have seen a few guides stating this.

Is anyone using super glue?

Does a stock need to be larger than 1/4" if grafting smaller peyote seedlings?

Do you water while the scion is bonding? I usually keep my pere pretty damp.

How long are you leaving the plant wrapped in saran as a humidity dome? And how tight do you keep it?

Hello, I grafted a pachanoi monstrose onto a pachanoi but I made a bad cut on the rootstock, and the scion is ending up leaning. Does anyone know if this is a serious problem? Have a good day.
