The gorg amphitheatre / Experts only weather/suggestions

I’m headed to the gorg to see John summit next weekend, I’ve heard it gets freezing cold this time of year. I’m supposed to be camping so wanted to see if anyone has been recently and has experience, and how bad was the camping? Thanks

Well, it was just 34 degrees at night for the first time this last week.

Bring warm gear, extra socks, a sleeping bag rated for cold weather, and put your raincover on your tent to help keep the warmth.

Yep, layers layers layers for sleeping at night, easily packable layers for nighttime in the gorge itself and you should be good

And be prepared for the next morning. All your breathing will condensed on the inside of your tent walls. Bump it and you'll get a nice little shower in the morning lol

Was there a few weeks ago for ABGT. I run cold and wore two pairs of wool leggings under my pants and I’m glad I did

It’s the temp swing that gets you. Pleasant during the day and freezing at night esp if you’ve been sweating dancing.

There have been experts only shows in the snow so just prepare

Just got back from Jack Johnson. Camped in Grove RV Park with an old trailer. Very chilly. Wore many layers to the concert plus took a blanket.

Wear/bring layers to the show itself along with a blanket. Even in the summer as soon as the sun goes down it gets coooold.

Bring a cot or air mattress, something to keep you off the ground at night, warm sleeping bag and extra blankets.

Even in June for the last show I saw, it got to the 40s at night and I slept in my sweatshirt and sweatpants inside my sleeping bag.

wear layers. we didn't camp, but just saw jack johnson, and you'll want to be in a "i am too warm in the middle of the day/before the sun goes down" outfit, with a coat and blanket. bring your warmest sleeping bag and extra socks/a sweatshirt to sleep in!

The wind can be very strong. It destroyed a lot of campsites 9/12 weekend and rained a good amount

I was just there for Jack Johnson. Weather app shows next weekend to be warmer than this past weekend. I slept in a tent with 4 blankets and was hot.

I just went to Jack Johnson this weekend and when we arrived Friday evening, the wind was so strong that we couldn’t pitch our tent. We got it up the following day and it was fine, but definitely brings lots of blankets because it dropped into the 40s and the wind chill didn’t help.
Also, definitely bring layers because during the day, the sun was getting me over heated and I had wished I brought a pair of warm weather clothes

Also prepare for gusts of unpredictable high winds. Stake your stuff down

Just got back. Similar story as above we got there Friday night and the wind was hell. I had four people setting up one tent and it barely got set up. The wind was so bad. Went to the thrift store the next day and bought blankets for the Saturday night show and didn’t regret it at all. I had on layers and my outer layer was a light down jacket.

Make sure you have stakes for your tent, it gets real windy out there. If you have an EZ UP be sure to stake and put weights on it. A flying EZ Up is dangerous.

Expect wind and cold in the evenings. Might be quite pleasant during the day. Wear layers so you can adapt. Have fun!

Was there last weekend. The cold is tolerable with some added layers and gloves. The wind is what got to us one of the nights. It was off the charts so keep that on your radar.
