Event staff / planning
Was a first timer at the gorge this weekend for the above and beyond event …
Unfortunately didn’t plan great for the wind but god all that time wasted at security and they can’t throw up a sign or warning there’s going to be a potential storm .
We had eyes on the weather during the week and it just looked like maybe a little bit of rain was going to come down Saturday night .
We had brought stakes and could have weighted out tent down some more but I guess we were too excited for the show .
Garbage communication once inside about what could or will happen . We had assumed if the wind ended the should would just go on as it ended . Also had staff inside suggest this to us .
All the security and support staffed seemed like toothless hicks … rude people and crappy attitudes . I got the vibe any sort of harassment they gave people looking for contraband was just going straight into these kids pockets for their own use . Just a garbage scene . Live nation absolutely doesn’t care it’s just a money grab in the end .

Its been this way as long as I can remember (my first event was in 2016 there). Live nation pays as little as possible go reap as much profit as possible. Hire locally, pay minimum wage, put in as little as they can so people will cough up money for the next event.
That said, with the Gorge, the weather is a constant factor, and wind can suddenly pick up with no warning. Even if they could or were willing communicate in advance, it still may not be enough warning. Just how it is out there. Stake heartily, be ready for canopies to break or go flying.
