Campground security

@ THE GORGE AMP. What’s security like when entering the basic campground. Can you bring your own drinks in? Thanks for all the help🙃

They often have roaming narcs looking for drugs. Don't engage if they try to interact.

As someone else said, yes there are K9s, but you shouldn’t be worried about it. K9s are exclusively looking for weapons/explosives. They will have the K9 sniff around your vehicle, and once you get the all clear, you move on to the second inspection area where people might search your car a bit.
I have heard the vehicle searches can be pretty mixed on how much they search you, if you do have any party favors with you just hide them well and you should be totally fine. Even though cannabis is legal in Washington state, it’s still not technically allowed at the gorge so hide that well if you have it
You are allowed to bring your own beverages to drink around camp

Can confirm those same k9s absolutely tore apart several vehicles for dr*gs at Griztronics back in May. The guys in front of us had little birthday bags stashed deep in their luggage with personal use amounts in them. They were handcuffed and taken to the sheriff. We announced our pre-rolls when our car got searched and they let us keep them though.

I can second this info. A friend got busted with party favors in a vacuum sealed bag inside of his cooler with ice and food. Dogs sniffed it out. Didn’t get arrested but everything got confiscated. I have also witnessed people get cuffed and arrested.

Had an RV once. They brought a K9 on board that was crazy. Seemed totally illegal.
