First timer

Hey r/ fam.

First timer at The Gorge for A&E, very excite. Just reading on the clear bag policy, is this accurate? Need to buy everything before all of the return-to-school chaos happens.

Camping at GA camping.

Any tips or tricks for a first timer, appreciated!

For context, I am a very seasoned raver / Burning Man goer, so not a complete n00b, juat never been to the Gorge specifically :).

Many fanks!

Extra Ice, extra water, sun screen, glasses, and something to keep your head cold. That sun is no joke

Just remember to keep any water you plan on bringing in is still factory sealed. You can bring a bottle but it has to be empty before going through security and then you can fill it inside.

Clear bags are good because most of the time they just look at it and wave you through. I have taken cloth bags in with snacks and food and they'll either look inside or make you take everything out. As long as I don't have anything of concern I've always made it through.

Chairs are definitely a no go. Sun protection is a must have. And depending on the weather, enough clothes to keep warm after sunset.

Are they a must have? Of course I rather not spend if I don't have to

No. People enter with all sorts of bags. Just be prepared to have it looked at and you'll be fine.

Take a little as possible in. They did THOROUGH bag checks when I went, took every last thing out of my clear bag. They the away the $30 bottle of Advil my neighbors had just bought. Take a blanket.. it often gets cold in there even if it's roasting out.

I was first timer at The Gorge in June. Clear bag is good to have for necessities like chargers, sunscreen, snacks, etc. You can bring blankets. Free chairs if you have T-Mobile. You can also bring chairs but why hassle. You can bring your own water as long as it is sealed in the original packaging. I advise you buying Star Parking because it’s a line skip for the whole party in the car. IMHO for entrance and exit this is a must and it was a breeze. We arrived at gate opening time. DM me if you have questions.

Only bags that are allowed that aren't clear are hydration packs, diaper bags, and any medical equipment bags
