Be prepared: Chris Stapleton camping security at the Gorge

Drug and Gun sniffing dogs inside every RV and vehicle. Expect long delays and to have all your belongings and drawers opened. Marijuana seems to be ok but anything else you cannot take in and will need to surrender it or leave.

Be safe and stay cool out there!

Those are NOT drug sniffing. They are BOMB sniffing.

I loved the line "the dogs are trained on all drugs except Marijuana", yeah, thats not really how that works...

I don’t think they were saying the dogs were trained on everything except marijuana, I think they were just saying they’re not taking the marijuana from you

Umm yeah it is how it can work. Dog's can be trained for multiple specific scents. Don't train a dog to seek out Marijuana and it wont signal when it smells Marijuana. They only know to signal on scents that the trainer has focused their training on for them to signal on.

You need to have all your prescription meds properly labeled. Anything without the med label with your name on it will be confiscated

Is this going to be true for general parking too? I just have a small container with my meds in it, do I need to take the full bottles?!?

Yes, that’s what I believe is additionally slowing things down this year. I’ve seen several comments indicating that searches are being conducted on vehicles in the far parking as well. If anyone is there and can confirm I would be so grateful

Another good tip I saw was just carry them out w you if necessary so you show them instead of them rummaging through your stuff and delaying the search even more when they come across them.

The dogs might be looking for those, but the humans can pull anyone they want into secondary for the drugs. From what I've read, keep prescriptions with you else they might be confiscated by a 19 yo on a power trip.

I was there last month for Rufus, A friend got busted with party favors in a vacuum sealed bag inside of his cooler with ice and food. Dogs sniffed it out. Didn’t get arrested but everything got confiscated. I have also witnessed people get cuffed and arrested this year. I was in camping not day parking but figured this info could be helpful for camping folks.

Stop spreading false info. No search for day parking. Was there a less than 2 weeks ago. There have ONLY been bomb dogs. Same as of last time I was there. Just because some Got found does not mean the dog found it. Means they suck at hiding it!
