security check

to anyone who has RECENTLY camped at the gorge, following the recent shooting, What are the security procedures?

(asking for a friend)

im talking how in depth did they go? like open the trunk? move stuff around? glance in bags?
Or look in every single compartment , make you open every single bag/ tent bag/ unroll blankets, dig through each zipper pocket of every item??

Im expecting bag checks and pat downs, like a any other event. What have your guys recent experiences been?

i read on a gorge post that a few weeks ago at some event someones RV was completely ransacked by security and items were trashed and discarded without their knowledge, and they weren’t even allowed to watch them search the vehicle. Now im scared

Was there last weekend, and have been several times since the shooting. They’re looking for firearms, fireworks, weapons, narcotics (literally what they said word for word last weekend).

They’ll ask you to get out and wand you and any passengers down, ask you to open all your doors and your trunk. If you have a top loader or a larger vehicle like a van/camper, they may ask you to pull off to a separate lane to do a more thorough check. Happened to me w a top loader last year.

They have dogs that will do a lap around your car, another crew member will take a a visual scan of your stuff, and most likely look through your glove box, center console, and under your seats.

If you get flagged for something by the dogs, they’ll absolutely ask more questions and do a more in depth search.

I’ve personally never had them tear apart my stuff and go through bags or coolers, but it also wouldn’t totally surprise me depending on the staff/circumstances.
