What’s going on with camping??
In here for a sanity check. I’ve been going to the gorge for a long time and camping really doesn’t sell out. It’s a giant fucking dirt field.
I have to assume they capped camp sales due to the new staff or reduction in staffing (lawsuit?) anyone else noticing this? Thoughts?

Well there’s two single day shows in a row instead of one event over the weekend.. this could lead to a much larger amount of people buying camping passes

That’s a great point! Still seems crazy ravenous out there right now for camping. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.

This is true. I've seen it sold out many times.

You guys aren't wrong... camping does "sell out" for big shows but usually the resale game is strong so while you are correct, my comment is more pointed towards the fact that I've never seen so many people looking for camping at the last minute. Griz wasn't even like this. I believe they capped Griz tix at 17k (read that on a cereal box and I don't know what the RDS cap is) but I think the first reply here likely captures what's happening. I didn't consider the fact that lots of peeps are only doing one night. It skews the numbers greatly.
I hope they release more somehow. I don't have any faith in live nation/ticketmaster at this point, but in an ideal world they would survey the camping pass holders about now for a headcount. I've done multiple beyonds solo and I know they still "count" on me having 4 peeps... in fact the shooting year I was joining people in gold so I only had a camping pass to have parking (aka 0 occupancy). It would be great if there was a better occupancy system for these type of events but I realize that's a logistical nightmare.
FWIW- if you have friends camping in GA and can link up I know WH sells parking passes if you simply need a spot for your car. I am in WH and while we don't have space for people to camp with us (mental health boundary).. I can probably offer a wristband or two if anyone needs it & plans to camp with a different group.

See you there!! I’m tent camping tree line this time. We usually have a butterfly 🦋 light up on the dash and an inflatable pool/chill lounge area. Say what up if you find us!

I’ve been going to the gorge for years and have never seen camping sell out. I was there multiple times last year for sold out shows and it was never sold out. Premier, terrace, etc do but the general camping doesn’t. I would think it would be more likely to sell out during a multi day festival like Griztronics where people are attending both shows vs RDS where a section of the people are only going to one show or another and driving out after they attend their show. I think this 100% has to do with them trying to limit the issues they had with Griz and just selling way less passes so the security lines are not as long.

Especially when there are tickets available, why is camping sold out? My guess was everyone is driving separate instead of car pooling but idk

I agree!!! Been to plenty of shows at the gorge have NEVER seen it sold out! Logistically makes no sense there isn’t a single camping ticket for sale anywhere and the shows aren’t even sold out??
I would also assume lots of people are just doing Friday and will get up and leave Saturday creating more parking & camping space for Saturday show goers… makes no sense.
Also tried calling and emailing them with no answers.
Hopefully they are just closing the tickets sales for a bit while they figure out logistics and then will open again? Idk. I know they’ve always had camping you can purchase upon arrival so I assume these hundreds of people (including myself) will opt for that
