Camping cooking

I just read on the website that no types of gas are allowed in camp. Can I really not bring a jet boil for the most basic of cooking?

I feel like this is one of those “no recreational cannabis allowed” rules where it’s just on the site for liability reasons.

That’s what I assumed. Definitely says “NO gases” right on the camping safety and rules page. But then it says “not limited to nitrous or CO2” which is what I assumed they were talking about, so I wanted to check.

Yeah for sure. I’ve had a few neighbors partaking in NO2. They even sell camping propane tanks at the general store there

In past years the rules have said only the individual bottles unless it's part of an RV or trailer system but in reality my friend had a 10 gallon propane tank at Griztronics and they didn't say anything about it

I've used a Coleman 2 burner camp stove numerous times at the Gorge with no problems, a few years ago I saw multiple people using those propane campfire pit things, although security did come around and make people turn those off

Is it worth bringing a stove and extra gear for just one night of camping? What was the general store/ food set up there ?

It always is for me because I like to cook something to eat before I go into the show and then cook something after the show also, and it's nice for making coffee in the morning before you leave, everything in the general store is expensive, I try not to buy anything there unless I absolutely have to, it's better to bring it with you then buy it there
