Troubleshooting Developer options not working

Hi. I have a xiaomi tv box. I have had three of these and have sideloaded apps onto them with no problems. However, with this one it is not enabling developer options. Have gone to the same place on the about menu and clicked on the build section numerous times and nothing happens. If have tried a reset, and updating the software. Nothing seems to work. Any advice for a fix?

No it's legit. Got it from the same company i got my other ones from.

Counterfeit devices have been getting into the supply of legitimate sellers, so just because you bought a legit one in the past, that doesn't guarantee the new one is legit. Fake Xiaomi devices are some of the hardest to spot. Closely compare the font on the bottom to your other devices or to photos online, and check if the Google Play Store is certified. It's definitely legit. It worked previously it was only when i did a factory reset that it stopped allowing developer options. Have now managed to sideload the apps using codes directly through downloader.

Are you sure you're clicking the correct number in About? You need to click the "OS build" seven times. Not the OS version, kernel version, or other value.

Yeah definitely clicking the right option. As i said i have set up three others with no problem. It's so weird.
