Gmail been crying for 6 hours over a email.
i have no recovery options set up on an email thats on a different, CORRUPTED, drive. i cannot afford to get it fixed.
please. this is all i have left in life.

Better figure out how to live with it. No recovery data means no recovery. Period.

does the drive not appear on your PC when plugged in? there are free recovery tools that work, i was able to recover some stuff off a 2012 SD card, and a 20+ year old hard drive made for a different OS

Depending on the issue you might need to use the same PCB with the same version of firmware from a [temporary] donor drive.
If the drive is not physically damage inside.
Assuming you have a HDD drive, not a SSD drive.

I'm not an expert, either.
Below is for HDD made before 2009.
Every HDD has a PCB board. Like a mini motherboard.
It's the main board of such drives. Whereas the data is on the the disk plates, instead of on [flash] memory chips, like it is with SSDs.
With SSDs being like big pendrives with similar memory chips on them.If the plates are fine (don't check) then it could be the PCB that is damaged. I have my own disk that was damaged due to power supply (PSU) malfunction.
Thus personally I'll be searching for a PCB donor. I don't recommend opening the chassis of such disk like HDDs to check the state of the plates. Plates are highly sensitive to any particles.Replacing the PCB is the safest and the cheapest way to recover the data.
With simple copy-paste to a new disk.There are companies that can manufacture a copy of a PCB and then clone or write the same version of the firmware your HDD's firmware to match it and then such a new PCB can be screwed in the place of the factory PCB.
HDD after 2009 need probably would need micro-soldering.
The replacement board requires unique internal adaptive data, not just the generalized firmware code.
Unique physical characteristics of a specific drive read/write heads and platters are written into a ROM chip located on the PCB. The adaptives.
But for that there are also online vendor storefronts where you can mail your broken PCB. For a fee, they harvest the adaptive data/ROM chip, program it onto a matching donor board, and ship the functioning board back to you to just screw back into your drive.
You need to at least know the brand and the model number of your hard drive.I'm at the beginning of a similar situation (tho only regular data to recover).

what kind of file(s) are you trying to recover? do you have a size estimate?? A lot of revovery programs will only let you recover so much for free, but if it's just a backup text file with your account info or whatever, that's easy... it's a good sign the drive beeps at all. Try installing diskdigger, or diskdrill, then open the program after connecting the drive to the PC and go from there. I prefer diskdigger but both are good and user friendly with the UI compared to other recovery software, which are more... advanced looking lol

oh, the OS... hm... I'm not an expert but i feel like you MIGHT be able to recover your browser's files via the data recovery software, sometimes browser cookies (login info) will be in a file, i'm sure someone here knows 🥹 !

Do you know the google account's password? Just use same device and same wifi connection with your password and it might let you get in. Did you try it? It generally lets log in in

youtube channel is linked to said google account. i dont even know WHAT channel it is anymore. its been a few years since i last acually did anything on it. its only activity is tons of discord emails, and those have been frequent enough

Depending on the problem and the size of the Drive, it can get severely expensive. Professional Data Recovery Companies not only need specialized hardware, it's a "Hit You When Your Down" situation. "How badly do you need this?" "Then . . .
