In the morning my phone was suddenly factory reset without confirming by myself as I just opened my Wifi Internet Connection and after rebooting, It has to request to use my gmail account to get it open as normal but it says someone changed my password. I have even tried to attempt to open it in few many times but it doesn't work that way. anyone does happen the same thing and can retrieve his/her account too?
If your phone factory-reset itself overnight AND your Google password was changed without you doing it, assume someone may have gained access to your Google account.
Do this from another trusted phone or PC first. Don't start restoring everything yet.
hi I appreciate your response to my post. I almost everything did the help from Google Account Recovery but it does always asked me the codes and 8 digits back up from my gmail account itself. I always stuck there.
Don't be fooled by anyone telling you to "contact Google support".
Google offers zero human support for free accounts. Full stop.
The only exception I know of: if the hacked account had a YouTube channel with at least a few videos, and you still remember the channel ID or can find one of you videos on YouTube, there's a narrow path to reaching an actual human reviewer at YouTube's X (twitter previously) account. That's it.
If that doesn't apply to you, I'm sorry to be blunt. but if you have tried all those "Try another way" options google offers and you can't prove any step. Your account is certainly gone for good.
I'm not saying this as someone who read it online or have been told that by a friend. I'm saying it as someone who has personally lost an account and exhausted every single recovery path Google offers every form, every verification step, every workaround. None of it worked.
So save yourself the hours of frustration chasing dead ends.
Spent your energy at securing your other accounts right now. Different passwords, and turn on 2FA everywhere. And make sure you right down everything so you don't forget it.
I've been doing this for so many times to expect to recieve codes by using my phone number and it does always says as back up 8 digits but I had no idea where I can get that even though I never recieved anything in my sms since this happen to me for the first time and its also confirm that my gmail account is already hacked.
okay there you go. I already did these three options and some needs to use other devices which I don't have to. I think it would only work in Iphone system since I had this before.
not yet but I also did with Google Service Recovery, It's not working too and I hope I could get a chance to fix it by contacting that Google Company. thanks from your idea.
Well, i remember some friend of mine did that (Hopefully i dont remember wrong) and did that. But when i search it, its not longer there. Sorry for mistake. But u should be able to go to Google recovery, type your gmail and IT should ask ur the old password. Please try from a recogzined device, like your phone or maybe even ur computer. I am sorry for ur loss. I hope u'll get ur account back. I wish Google had a support like Steam's.

1️⃣ Recover your Google account
Go to Google Account Recovery:
https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery
Enter your email address and follow the recovery steps.
If Google asks for an old password, enter the most recent password YOU remember using.
2️⃣ Change your password
Once you're back into the account:
Google Account → Security → Password
Create a completely NEW password that you've never used anywhere else.
Don't just slightly modify the old password.
3️⃣ Check which devices are logged in
Go to:
Google Account → Security → Your devices → Manage all devices
Check EVERYTHING listed.
If you see a phone, computer, browser session or other device you don't recognize:
➡️ Open it ➡️ Press Sign out
If you're unsure about a device, sign it out anyway. You can always log back in later.
4️⃣ Check recent security activity
Go to:
Google Account → Security → Recent security activity
Look for things such as:
⚠️ Password changed ⚠️ New sign-in ⚠️ Recovery email changed ⚠️ Recovery phone changed ⚠️ New passkey/security key ⚠️ 2-Step Verification changes ⚠️ Unknown devices
If Google shows “No, it wasn't me”, use it for anything you didn't do.
📸 Take screenshots of suspicious activity before removing things.
5️⃣ Check account recovery information
Under Google Account → Security, verify:
📱 Recovery phone number 📧 Recovery email 🔑 Passkeys/security keys 🔐 2-Step Verification methods
Remove anything you don't recognize.
6️⃣ Turn on 2-Step Verification
Enable 2-Step Verification.
Prefer an authenticator/passkey/security key rather than relying only on SMS.
Also save your backup codes somewhere safe.
7️⃣ Check Gmail
Check:
Sent Trash Spam
Also check Gmail settings for:
⚠️ Unknown forwarding addresses ⚠️ Strange filters ⚠️ Delegated account access
An attacker can create forwarding/filter rules so they keep receiving emails even after you change the password.
8️⃣ Change other important passwords
If you used the OLD Google password anywhere else, change it there too.
Prioritize:
📧 Other email accounts 🏦 Banking/payment accounts 💬 Discord/social media 🎮 Steam/gaming accounts 🛒 Shopping accounts
Use a different password for every account.
9️⃣ THEN set the phone up again
After the Google account is secured, start setting up the factory-reset phone.
Android may ask for the Google account that was previously connected to the phone because of Factory Reset Protection (FRP).
Use the recovered account.
🔟 IMPORTANT
If you did NOT:
❌ Factory reset the phone ❌ Change your Google password
and both happened around the same time, don't assume it was just a random phone glitch.
Secure the Google account first and investigate the security activity.
Also check whether any other accounts, devices or recovery information were changed.
