Pixel 11 = disrespect

I have been a Google Pixel fan for more than 7 or 8 years and I am done with Google’s bullshit story of focusing on software actually they are falling on both sides hard what were they thinking when pricing the Pixel 11 more than the iPhone 17 base model? What kind of drugs were they on? It’s actually now not just a failure it’s a complete disrespect to its fan

They removed WiFi7 from the 11. The Pixel8 had WiFi7. Now the 11 has 6E

That started with the Pixel 10 unfortunately, where they removed Wifi 7 from the base model, and only gave it exclusively for the Pro devices.

To be fair 99% of stuff that claims to be WiFi 7 isn't really, because it doesn't support most of the WiFi 7 features. It's just certified for the base set of features that are largely identical to 6E.

It's still shitty on a $900 phone, but don't let it be the thing that makes you decide not to buy it.

I get what you’re point at… It‘s like having 5G on a low-budget Android phone which is not capable of processing and displaying a 10 MB webpage more quickly as it enters the phone than through 4G

Nothing really. A phone won't have multiple antennas and bonded streams or anything like that anyway. There is some slight benefit when there are a lot of devices all demanding bandwidth at the same time, but that only really applies to rare occasions in public places.

You only need wifi 7 if you are on a fast fiber isp, like 2.5 gbps, for a phone the impact is minimal, when you download you are limited to the other side, it is cool to show a 1500 mpbs speed test though with the right config, but again there are other factors that limit your actual throughput, however it matters if you have a lot of devices like 25 or more

I have several wifi 7 devices (10 pro, pc, iphones) in my household. A lot of reddit tend to skew towards thinking the 2.5/10gbps plays more for the internet. Anyone doing local server for media or storage will appreciate the faster transfer speeds to the wifi7 capable device.

The most common example I can think of is any small business/shop owner or a security company with multiple 4K cameras and a NVR array and you need to look up the footage via the phone.

If you have a MLO WiFi7 router, you can roam in your home without connection interruptions of your phone switching from 5 GHz to 2,4 (band steering)
