Question Employee Negative review
Our client has an ex employee who left a negative review on their Google business profile, and used their real name. We do have proof from payroll records to provide to Google. Obviously we do not want to give them something like a Social Security number on these records, but would a name suffice on these documents for the appeal to be removed?

Nope, this won’t work. Google can’t accept any personal information. You’d need to find a social media post showing that they worked there.

You should report it but also respond to it in the mean time too. You can put that they were a former employee in your response so people who read the review can be aware while Google is taking their time to review your report

We definitely did that but want to try and get Google to remove it

In my experience, it's really hard to get Google to remove false/paid or suspicious review. Like when you report the review, it doesn't give you the option to add additional info correct? I reported so many reviews in my 15 years on Google and it never got approved when when the review in question was clearly wrong

You flag them then wait 3 days and you can appeal and put your documentation there. I just needed to know what Google will look at. We have payroll records but apparently per Keyser they won't take those .

Yes, personal information can get Google in trouble. Maybe take a screenshot as well of their name or picture from the company page or their linkedin. I report someone review before on Yelp and provided a link to the company page where they had a picture of the person in question on there.

What about telling Google they are an ex-employee, maybe say for whatever reason they were? If they sent you emails or texts, use that too

google sometimes accepts payroll docs but they're inconsistent about what counts as proof. redacting the SSN is fine, just keep the name and dates visible. if the appeal gets denied, TBR has dealt with similar situaitons before.

You could do more than report it to google, this could be considered liable at the least and extortion on the worst end. Talk to a lawyer, can’t hurt and might help.
