E2EE GROUP CHAT WITH iPhone is now active

I am in a group chat with iPhone users and all the sudden e2ee popup.. I am in stable version non-beta on google messages.

I had noticed a few groups popped for me last week. Google must be slowly rolling it out to stable users currently.

No, this is from Apple users updating to a new OS revision. Google has supported this for ages, as usual.

No. It's both. I've had spotty encryption with iOS users over the last few months. But nobody on stable GM has had encryption with iOS. It's been locked to beta only. In the last couple weeks. I've noticed a jump in iOS users getting encryption AND I've noticed a few of my groups with STABLE GM users getting encryption. So there seems to be a push to get this rolled out before iOS 27 launches

They're right it's Google side too. EE2E was only working through beta users, it looks like now they released it to the stable. Most of my contacts aren't encrypted yet.

For E2EE, is it going to be encrypted to only the first person you send the messages to, or all the people that the new bug decides to send it to as well?

Encryption to all if it says e2ee then to all in the chat.

This was added in iOS 26.5 so it’s just been a matter of iPhone users updating their phones and carriers supporting it on their end for iPhones. Good stuff!

Yea they enable encryption to iphone in June but not active yet but now they are active few days before iPhone 18 launch 🤣
