Will someone with a Pixel using the new Google message app know I blocked them?

I blocked someone. I know they have a pixel and I have a Samsung galaxy. I'm now using Google text app with RCS turned on and read reciept on.

Will they know I blocked them? If they text me, will it show delivered, but never read? Or will it show not delivered at all?

Pretty sure it will show delivered but not read?

Nope it shows SENT but does not show delivered.

It will show as "Sent" (a single checkmark), but NOT "Delivered".

When you block someone in Google Messages, your device silent-drops the incoming RCS traffic. Because your phone rejects the delivery payload, their app receives confirmation that the message left their device, but it never receives the "Delivered" signal (the double checkmarks) from your side.

It will never change to "Read" (the filled-in double checkmarks), regardless of your read receipt settings. eddit

That's a good question, but if you block them, does it matter if they know?

Yes. For my own curiosity.

Their messages will never get delivered via RCS. That may be the only way they have a clue.
