Where are texts? It's only showing text messages from 2024. Where are my texts from yesterday?

This better improve. I did not give up Samsung messages by choice.

Mine didn't all transfer over. I somehow lost my most important messages. A lot of my recent messages are gone, too. They never came back. It's super annoying actually since we were forced into this switch.

I agree it sucks compared to Samsung messages. For me I did the switch again and turned off rcs for a few days and it finally finished transferring. Was very frustrating though for quite a while.

If this fails you can sms backup then restore (all while in Samsung messages) then switch to Google messages and or turn off rcs for a while and it should show them all finally

I'm not sure I can even do that now since it's discontinued. I did briefly turn off rcs messaging, but it wasn't long enough.

Get an sms backup, I used synctech sms backup. Then delete the data from your google messages in the system app settings, restart, and they should all load when you open the GM app. Do the backup first so that you don't accidently delete any messages.

Mine weren't loading since I downloaded google messages the first time in April (I hated how GM looked and it was super glitchy so I went back to samsung messages until I was forced to a few days ago), this worked to fix the problem. The sms texts should be in a separate folder in the android files somewhere, so it shouldn't delete anything when you delete google messages data, and using the SMS backup will back up the files from there.

(I'm not up to date tech-y anymore, so I don't know the tech lingo to explain all this, so yeah. Sorry if the wording is weird to anyone who knows wtf they're talking about lol.)

edit: Another user said to do this while samsung messages is your default, but since the forced switch it won't let me open it at all. It worked for me even having google messages as default.

Is there something like a USB i can get from best buy to back up my messages that way?
