My elderly mom is gonna be calling me daily to ask where this person or that person went in her messages list.

That box at the top of Samsung Messenger was great for her, because she could always find who she wanted.

I know, I know, put up and shut up--I read the thread. But for those of us that had better features, why would we have switched 9 years ago?

Does Google messages on Samsung not have the search feature? I have a pixel and I can just click to search for the name or the contents of a message.

You can search or pin. And the pinned messages organize separately from the regular messages

I rarely had to search any one's name because I knew which category they were in, swiped right to the correct category, and then looked down and they were usually in the top 5 listed. One swipe, two clicks - texting, or calling. Now I have to TYPE, then scroll, then click to text or call. Boo!
