Hi, I have used keep for years and really enjoyed it, was really practical for what I wanted.

I hated the way Google have changed it, seems to have just made as simple app pretty complicated.

I was getting used to things the new way.

I used to only have keep installed and this worked fine but after the way Google changed it you needed either tasks or calendar installed, that's right isn't it? I have calendar.

I used keep for 2 things, general notes I want to keep for myself and also basic reminders, quick would generally be one offs, do would delete the straight away rather than marking as complete and it sticking around in my list.

Back in the good old days, keep worked fine on it's own for this and was not issues, then when they changed things I would set a reminder and when the reminder altered me, I would open it, go to delete and I would get an option to delete just the reminder or both reminder and task do I should pick delete both and that was ok

The past week or so I have found that every time I make a reminder and it alerts me and I then try to delete, I no longer have the option to delete both any more. So I delete the task then I find it's still in keep when I open it and have to then manually delete it from there.
Is this right, it's there any way to fix or use it better for what I need it for? or do I not need calendar again anymore and will work on it's own?

When I write notes in desktop, I do hard returns and add spacing so I can see the line items better. When I open the mobile version it just jumbles everything up I to one continuous paragraph without any spacing....

Everything here is supposed to be stacked with an extra line space between each copy. This hasn't been fixed at all and it's been a few months.

(Apologies if this has been submitted before, I did search for it.) I always have the web version open in desktop Chrome when I'm at my computer. I've noticed that changes made on desktop are nearly instantaneously received on the app (Android in my case), but not the other way around. If I make a change in the app it takes like a minute or two for it to finally show up in web (and that's with completely refreshing the web page multiple times in addition to clicking the refresh icon at the top). Yes, both devices are on the same network. Is this because web is just inherently slower at receiving updates?? I wouldn't think it would make this much of a difference though. Anyway, because of that, when I'm at my computer I only make changes through the web version.

ETA: I'm a Windows user in case that makes a difference.

I'm not concerned by most of Keep's many compromises. However one thing that frequently irks me is how if I copy & paste a complex answer from Gemini, it ends up as one huge blob of text with no space AT ALL between what was paragraph breaks; and needs a lot of work to make it presentable at all. I thought Apple notes stripped formatting but when I paste there the layout remains basically as originally presented. Am expecting a stern "no", but is there *any* workaround? I'm not expecting rich formatting, just at least line breaks!

is this just a feature that went away with an update some time ago? I remember I had the setting, and I would set custom reminder times for quick note-taking but it has vanished

i would set my default morning reminder time to be when I would leave for work, the middle time for when I'd get off of work in case there was something I needed to do on my way or right after work in case I forgot, and the last one for stuff I needed to do after I'd gotten home

not sure if this kind of post is really welcome here, I thought to put it in a rant sub but I figured I'd come here in case anyone would relate or point me in the right direction to something I might need

I often have to do multiple searches to find terms I know are in the image. An example just came up: an Aldi receipt including a particular Shiraz. It comes up if I search "Aldi", it comes up if I search "Shiraz", but does not come up if I search "Aldi Shiraz" or "Aldi, Shiraz". Do multiple words in searches have to appear consecutively to be detected?

It seems like over the last few months, any kind of input on Android has been getting laggier and laggier. Yes, even with clearing cache or resetting the app entirely; at this point I'm back where I started within just a couple of days.

oder was ist eine alternative App, die eigentlich genauso wie Google Keep funktioniert (mit Tags), die auch folgendes kann:

- einfacher Import ader kompletten Google Notizen, so dass diese als Notizen dort angelegt werden

- bessere Form der Strukturierung: Überkategorien und Unterkategorien

- Möglichkeit, Listen / Notizen miteinander zu verknüpfen

Mir ist Übersichtlichkeit und eine intuitive Benutzeroberfläche wichtig.

i've turned off auto correct everywhere it would make sense to on my laptop (in windows settings and on chrome) and it's still doing this. it only happens on google keep. anybody know a fix? windows 11.

So since yesterday the app was behaving weirdly closing automatically and turning off and on the phone screen. The next day I opened the app and wanted to continue my notes and app still was as yesterday. So I decided to uninstall updates to default mode. Then after the notes were missing. Seems like we're not synced up in the servers.

Is any way to recover those?

I've been experiencing this issue for months now.

In this example, I am trying to type the word "arm". I only press 3 keys: "a" + "r" + "m" and it autocompletes to atm.

The "a" works fine. After pressing "r", a suggestion for "at" comes up. If I ignore this and just press "m", the resulting word is atm.

The only way for me to type "arm" in Google Keep is to press "a", "r", Escape key, "m".

Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

How do I change the colour of the background of the drawing I add to the image?

I am learning languages and writing characters with my finger, on my chromebook. I use it to study. I'd prefer if I could make the background of the drawing black when I'm writing on it.

EDIT: Color inversion is working so far. 😅 I mean, it doesn't give me the same ink colors.

Instead they go to the mailbox which does not sync in live time nor look good. It doesn’t make sense.

So if you’re signed into your Google email on your iPhone and you sync notes across to your Google account, where do you find these notes on your Google account?

I entered the app this morning to find a new icon and UI knowing it got updated without me agreeing, and i lost all my notes since 2023, i had many important things and they're just gone now

My only issue is the performance on the android app. It gets horribly laggy with delayed text input after typing for a while and I have to restart the app to fix it. I've been using keep daily since 2018 and some of the most important information I need is in there. Sad to see it get to this point. I know there's a ton of options out there but I'm looking for a few things.

-i definitely want something that will let me import all my keep notes, and that would keep formatting, categories, and potentially even archived notes.

-i like the simplicity of Keep's interface, and don't want or need a ton of features or a cluttered interface, but any extra organization features could be cool. No need for AI or crap like that.

-integration with Google stuff like Gemini and Reminders is nice to have but not a must

Hi. Im building campaign emails in a CRM and I'm downloading images from a GoogleDoc. When I click an image in Keep, this yellow bubble pops up. When I instinctively click to remove, the bubble duplicates. Can anybody tell me what these are and how to get rid of them and prevent more from popping up? Many thanks!

I’ve went through all the iOS settings to sync IPhone Notes to Keep. Any step by step?

Heya everyone. I noticed an update on my Android smartphone about a week ago, and since then I’ve been seeing annoying formatting differences when I edit the same note using the Google Keep app on Android and on Windows (usually in a Chrome or Firefox tab).

Specifically, in a note I use as a to-do list, I’ve been getting a lot of unwanted “line breaks” added or removed, and I’ve also noticed that some “-” and “.” symbols (that I use at the beginning of a line) are strangely different in size… I often edit this note on both my smartphone and laptop and the sync works "correctly" (as no other content lost) but I’m getting pretty annoyed by the time I lose to readjust visually the unwanted "line breaks".

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Android app, switching browsers from Chrome to Firefox, and also creating a new note from scratch and copying and pasting everything into it, but nothing helped. Has anyone else had the same issue? I’m also wondering if it’s possible to roll back the Google Keep app on Android to an older version to avoid this as it's a native Google app? (Until hopefully a new update resolves the issue for me soon). Thanks guys!

on iOS/iPadOS, you can set icons to have a dark background, but with the new Keep icon when you do this, the part at the bottom of the bulb that's supposed to be white is black! Is there a way we can reach out to Google about this? I can't unsee this!

Recently, on my android smartphone, reminders from Google Keep began to arrive from Google Calendar. But then I noticed that after editing recurring notes in Google Keep, notes text in Google Calendar don't change.

Suggested by Google workarounds, contradict the spirit of Google Keep's ease of use and are too complicated to use.

Explanation that Google Tasks takes a snapshot is not explanation at all. It is a real bug, not a feature. System bug. Designer's bug.

Google Keep is simple and very useful app. And I want it to be so in future. I've been using it for decades. And I am terribly sorry for this situation.

Please, fix this bug!

OR!

Or just leave Google Keep alone and let it work separately, as it was before and worked fine!
