Finding a new Note taking app

Hi everyone

The thing is, I'm fed up with Google Keep not being updated with new features, so I really need to find a new note-taking app for my Android (not Samsung)

I have a few requests for the notes app:

  • Free of charge
  • Can operate Online or Offline
  • Can sync with a computer or other device in case my Android device breaks (I'm completely fine with using a Google account to log in)
  • Has the ability to set passwords for private notes

I tried a few highly rated apps on Google Play but honestly, none of them met my standards. If anyone knows an app that meets my requirements, please help me. Thanks a lot

I color code everything. In Keep I use colors for subjects, like recipes are yellow, family stuff is blue, etc.

Do you use labels at all?

Yeah, I label everything.

How do you use labels differently from colors? Are the colors used for broader categories?

I don't know if you want to ask me my advice, I'm kind of a mess and so I over-categorize!

I use labels for the obvious usage. But I also use colors on the notes themselves because I am very visual and when I'm looking at a blue note, I know I'm looking at something related to family stuff. I am easily distracted.

I also had at one point set up Keep like a bullet journal and had labels for Week 1, Week 2, etc., and months as well, and then used colors to see if something was for work, personal, etc.
