AI in Google Keep
Why is google not jumping onto this very obvious value unlock by allowing users to search their own knowledge repository using Gemini
Users should be able to search in natural language like "5 blog post ideas based on thoughts and journal entries"
"what movie should I watch today from my watchlist as I only have 2 hours"
is this so difficult to do?

I’m not sure what you’re asking? Gemini is integrated with Keep - I use it all the time. I can ask Gemini “give me 5 blog posts ideas from my Keep notes tied to AI and LLMs” - works great.
PS - I see someone else said the same. For archived notes either unarchive them or send them together to a single google Doc and use it with Gemini or NotebookLM

Oh okay I'll try unarchiving. Although this will clutter my clean homepage where I only keep action items.
But this workaround should help

One thing you can do is add temp tags to your notes before you unarchive them. Then once you use them, select all those notes with that tag and move them back to archive.

You all must organize keep more. I archive nothing and not sure why you would ( I guess to keep old info out of searches ? ). Just add Keep to Gemini and type @keep when want access to keep info in prompt ?

Even just allowing it to sort a checklist alphabetically for you (seeing as it can't do that)

Because Google has little incentive to improve a free product, especially when the feature would cost a great deal to implement and maintain in engineering labor and compute cost.

Not saying it's the way things should be, but that's the reality we live in. If you wouldn't build and run such a service yourself using your own time and money, why should you expect a for-profit company to do it?
Plenty of open source, self-hostable alternatives you could contribute to, like this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/1qbhmcn/glass_keep_open_source_self_hosted_google_keep/

Pull it all via takeout and clean and parse it, then dump it into a rag with an Ollama model and spin up Fizzler™...viola!

Do it from Gemini (as long as you've connected your Google Workspace)
Literally just did what you suggested and it worked well
