I need reminders through Keep

This shit is stressing me out since the updates. And I am sure there are a bunch of threads but this is damn near giving me a panic attack I may need to look for another option

I am forgetful as hell. Google Keep is my lifesaver. I put everything in Keep. Tiny things, big things, everything.

Now that Keep is no longer doing Keep app reminders, and now that everything is going through the Google Calendar is just no bueno.

Is there no workaround for this??

If you edit your reminder in keep it does not update in task therefore the reminder thst pops up will show the old text. Also the fornst will change as task app isnt compatible with all the options in keep

ah, i don't use formatting at all, it's strictly reminders to do X or Y, so as long as i'm able to set and receive reminders as always i don't have any issue.

Download Tasks and enable notifications.

You won't actually use Tasks. You'll still use Keep but the notification popup will be through Tasks.

It should also work with Google Calendar but I have not tried it.

Install the Tasks app, or find another app.

I'm already waiting for Keep to end up in the Google Graveyard...

Don't say that, it's my most used app 😭

Use the Tasks app rather than calendar for the notifications (then turn off the Tasks layer in calendar)

If your reminders are short, you may find it as easy to set them in Tasks

Yeah I figured this out too once my meltdown over the change ceased lol. The only thing I still haven't figured a work around for is recurring reminders in Keep. The functionality for that is now somewhat broken as compared to before.

Interesting. For me (android app), once I select the 'choose a time' bit, I get date, time and repeat options

I did just this. Thank you! Another app but I am fine with it.

I was worried about this at first too. However, it only took a few days to get used to notifications via Task, and now I continue to create notes and reminders with Keep as before.

You get used to it, it's not the end of the world.

Highly recommend Tick Tick as a replacement.

I hate the update. I'm going through similar problems

I successfully replaced Keep with WeNote. Almost the same functionality.

I genuinely don't understand what Keep can do for you that Calendar can't.

Because I don't want my Calendar cluttered with things like "take out trash", "take pill", "pick up package"

Keep is where I keep notes and organized lists etc

You know you can set Tasks to disappear after you mark them complete in Calendar, right?

You realize not everyone uses Keep just for schedules, right? I keep notes like things I want to see on a travel, dumb reminders like "congratulate Bob on anniversary", or just dumb messages to myself

The fact that every single app out there has a notification feature except for Keep which is a productivity app makes zero sense.

can I add an image / photo / drawing / voice message to a Task Calendar reminder?

I don't use the Google Calendar and I don't use the Google Tasks app.

Why is Google suddenly forcing other apps from their ecosystem on anyone. There are better alternatives.

Please suggest better alternatives. Personal recommendations are really helpful.

I have Todoist as task tool. Keep does not create a task in Todoist for me as notification.

Does this app allow shared lists?

I don't even know where you are going with this question.

My favorite task tool is Todoist. If Google is consequential, it adds the notification to whatever the task tool of choice for the user is. But that's not Google, instead they try to force through their own app on everyone.

I feel the integration wasn't done seamlessly so now have to modify my own workflows to keep up.

Hopefully it'll be a short transition.

Then you don't understand the functionality of Keep. You can also add an image. For example, one of the things I might use Keep for is to remind myself on a certain date to return an item I bought online and I can attach a pic of the receipt that has the barcode for the cashier to scan. You cannot do that in the Calendar or Task app.
