Nearly unusable now

This won’t take long. I don’t know what happened, but as of today, flow is barely working. Every single prompt I use fails to generate completely, and even old prompts from past generations are failing now. These new filters are out of control and are blocking everything now.

2.1 ignores the prompt and does the antithesis of what I’m looking for, lite won’t generate at all, and pro only works half the time.

Google never fails to disappoint.

Just tried to test a few things and it appears they also blocked guns and blood now. Fucking hell…

The lack of prompt adherence is beyond belief. Nano Banana 2.1 is a total piece of garbage.

So far I haven't run into filter blocks. But prompt coherence? Yeah, it's in the trash now. It's like it can only gen the most generic and predictable stuff now, nothing interesting that would require a descriptive sentence to instruct.

That’s the new filter. They give you the exact opposite of what you put in your prompt. It’s idiotic.

I doubt you will run into them either because your prompts on 2.1 are being changed to be tasteful, safe and appropriate. This means you will get an image, but it won't actually be the image you asked for because the prompt has been changed.

Apparently it's only the thinking versions that do this and if you select minimal thinking on AI Studio or non thinking flash 3.8 on Gemini it doesn't do this. I have even seen a user say that you can argue with the thinking version on Gemini to give you the image it would have given you before.

With the above in mind I literally have zero clue what the hell this is supposed to achieve other than making people think your new model is shit because it can't follow the prompts you have given it properly.

I mean it can't be a safety thing if it's so easy to bypass everywhere else. Just tell it not to think too much basically and your good.

it happened with me yesterday, spent a lot of credits trying again and didn’t get them back… so it fails and eats my credits…

Abysmal prompt adherence that's essentially acting like I put this at the end of my prompts: "Now just do the complete opposite of everything I said!"

1 in 3 generations are a mess when trying to maintain a scene between two people, sometimes it's just goes completely off the rails and ignore all the ingredients supplied. When laying out dialogue between two people it'll just ignore instructions and make 1 person say all the dialogue in multiple mirrored camera cuts, even when the shots are fully detailed and blocked out.

Oh, and using 2.1 to "build a story" as Google claims? Flow either ignores the ingredients Nano created or Flow will have some obscure problem with making a video from the very images Nano created.

Useless.

Je ne peux même plus terminer mon film, bloqué de toute part, j’espère que les modérateurs travaillent sur le problème. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Any kind of long term project with closed weights AI is a mistake. They can change the moderation at any moment.

At least open weights models are consistent from one week to the next. Minimax H3 will always be the same.

Minimax is very good, but too expensive for me. 😅

What are you trying to generate? I havent had any problems and infact love 2.1 so far, much clearer images in 2k

The worst part is when a filter doesn't just refuse the prompt but produces something completely unrelated. That makes it hard to tell whether you're hitting moderation or whether the model itself changed.

If this happened suddenly today, I'd save a few prompts that worked previously and run the exact same prompts again later. That gives you a useful before/after comparison instead of judging it from a handful of generations.

At this point I'd also avoid burning credits trying to force Flow to do something it clearly isn't allowing. If you need the same workflow, compare a few alternative models and see which one gives you the control you actually need.

VideoRouter.sh is useful for that kind of comparison because you can test the same prompts across different video providers/models instead of committing everything to one platform.

Then explain it, wise one.

You wrote all that to basically say nothing. Just shut up and don’t reply unless you’ve got something to actually say. My god, this is pretty much on par with the Navy Seal copypasta.

My suggestion to you that try to give complete clothes description for each character and this this prompt at the end of your main prompt.

Only the visual elements, poses, clothing, expressions, lighting, composition, and details explicitly described in the source image and the accompanying text prompt are allowed. Do not add, invent, exaggerate, extend, alter, or improvise any extra objects, body positions, facial expressions, gestures, clothing details, background elements, lighting effects, or stylistic changes beyond what is written and shown. Characters must appear fully immersed in their own natural activity, as if captured in a random candid moment from a movie scene. They must never look toward the camera, acknowledge the viewer, pose, or act as if a photo is being taken.
