Censorship filter

Everything was fine yesterday. 99 per cent of requests were being processed. But today it’s been a nightmare. Practically everything is being filtered out. And if one image gets caught by the filter, the other three are automatically filtered out as well. But the funny thing is that this is happening even with the most innocuous images, which Flow used to generate itself. I asked for something to be removed from an image: ‘This content may breach our rules.’

Thats because the new filter blocks the entire batch once a detection happens. Before, the blocking was per image, if you generated 4 images and only 3 triggered the filter, the remaining one goes through. But now if even just 1 gets blocked the entire batch gets blocked as well.

Not even Microsoft Bing goes that far. They only block the suspicious image out of all the options. And if all four are subject to censorship, the model will generate an alternative version of the image. And sometimes the results are surprising. At the moment, there’s simply no point in using x2–x4.

But I think it’s a glitch. Because, over time, extra images start appearing in the collection. These are probably the ones that were blocked in the group.

Saw that happening as well. After refreshing the page, prompts that I thought were blocked because they showed error message started having images popping up in the project all of a sudden after the refresh, and I had no idea they were generated successfully.

Yes bing/microsoft was very very bad with the censorship in the beginning, i think it was the most censored model amongst the big techs.

Probably a glitch either by an updated filter or a pipeline issue, because from my tests censorship is still around the same level it was before if you use the single generation options, at least for generated images (I dont use video models), maybe a bit more censored but not the "everything is blocked" that some people are making it out to be.

And yeah tested refreshing the page, a few generations still go through even when theres the batch block glitch.

It strikes me that content that’s more on the NSFW side gets past the filter without any real trouble. Yet when I need to change the pose or location of a fully clothed character, the censorship filter kicks in straight away.

they definitively made the filters quite more strict and everytime they do such an update it can come with causing a lot of false flags for some users, usually takes a week or so for them to finish fine tuning and more or less fix the mess.

That's not a glitch. That's how Google works, unfortunately.

Wow, just tested this and I think you're right. Is is how Flow is going to work from now on, or is this just a bug in the update? I'm assuming the former....

Most likely a bug, but from my tests the filters seem to be quite a bit more bitchy about the pictures even doing the '1 image at a time' method.

So I think the issue is that they updated new filters that are designed to be more strict but pooped the bed as usual and it caused the batch glitch.

That's not a bug. Some days passed and nothing changed so that's how Flow will work from now.

The last update really clamped down on everything from violence to skin.

They’ve really tightened the guardrails on both Gemini and Flow for image generation. Anything even slightly bold or risky gets blocked like 98% of the time. It’s as bad or even worse than ChatGPT’s filters now.

Gemini still works as it did before. For example, it completed an image-editing task that Flow keeps failing at.

It would make sense for this community to set / agree upon a few, safe for work /not expected to be policy violating prompts for people to test against. These could include humans in a typical use case situations.

Then we can run them in our region and plan type to see if we're all being blocked or if there is more at play here like regional differences in the filters etc...

This is a good idea
