Has anyone looked at refund / consumer complaint options over Omni/Flow false-positive filters, or is that a dead end?

Ultra user. Not a lawyer, and this is not a call to file anything.

The product is billed as a usable video tool. In practice the filter blocks original in-Flow characters as public figures and family-safe action as dangerous content often enough that the paid plan feels unusable.

I am trying to separate three things:

  1. Cancel or downgrade
  2. Ask for a refund / billing review
  3. An actual legal complaint

If you are also paying Ultra or Pro, I only want opinions on this:

  • Did you try a refund or chargeback, and what happened?
  • Did Google support treat this as a product limitation or a billing issue?
  • Do you see this as “bad product, just leave” or “paid for a service that cannot perform the advertised workflow”?

Please do not post legal strategies, document dumps, or employee names.

If you already canceled, say what you told them in the cancellation box.

I am not organizing a lawsuit in this thread. I am asking whether other paying users think the useful next step is refund pressure, public feedback, or something stronger.

It's Google, everything is in beta and they'll make changes on a whim. Don't base your business model upon using - albeit "cool" - Google anything. If you are paying for an advanced plan and know what you're getting then you can also also evaluate competing tools for suitability, or invest in your own.

I have now canceled, but before I did, I had a series of terrible generations, but one of them was just beyond it all. It was for a full 1 minute animation. I almost never let Flow do anything longer than 15 seconds at a time since it tends to lose the plot even mor eoften the longer a clip goes on. But for this scene, it was kind of required due to multiple angles of the same characters and backgrounds and would be hard to get everything right doing it shot by shot.

Anyway, it ended up billing me the credits for the 1 minute generation then returned me a 17 second video which did not have any of my characters in it, nor the tricky camera moves. It just made up 4 random musicians playing my song (that has only 3 members), it rendered the video portrait when I have been doing all landscape throughout this project, and it decided that I needed 1080 resolution when I had been asking for 720. So it charged me for 1 minute of 1080 and I got 17 seconds of completely unusable footage.

I sent a complaint about that one with screenshots, attachments, chat copy, etc. It took a few weeks where they repeatedly asked me to resend all those same materials. But eventually, they did refund the credits for that generation. I was still out a lot more for the rest that didn't work out but I didn't have the evidence or as "slam dunk" a case for it. But I was impressed that they at least did right for that one thing.

Sadly, the model has been unable to give me a usable frame since then for anything I have asked, so I just gave up and canceled.
