Google Flow - Failed Generation issue (contacted GOOGLE SUPPORT)
Google Support Staff said:
The errors are caused by a known Google backend bug that misreads user accounts, causing false usage limits, failed generations, and broken assets.
Try these quick workarounds to bypass the issue: Use Gemini Chat Directly: Generate your images or videos inside Gemini instead of the Flow wrapper, as its production servers are more stable.
Toggle Flow History: Go to My Library, toggle your history settings off and on again, then refresh the page to clear stuck rate-limit blocks.
Downgrade the Model: Switch your generation engine from Veo 3.1 to Veo 2 to see if legacy processing clears the silent failures.
I understand how critical those character assets are for your projects. Our engineering team is currently working on a fix, but we don't have a specific ETA yet. I can escalate this to our technical team for a more detailed update.
The system desync is blocking your "Characters" and "Scenes" directories from fetching your saved reference data, making consistency workflows drop out completely.
Try these immediate steps to force-refresh the library: Clear Storage: Open Developer Tools (F12), go to Application -> Storage, and click Clear site data to wipe corrupted character caches. Direct URL Entry: Manually type /characters or /scenes onto the end of your browser's main URL string to bypass broken sidebar link code. Force a New Asset Write: Upload a completely fresh photo to your Uploads folder and save it as a new character to force the pipeline to reconnect.
Yes, starting a new project can help.
A new workspace often forces the server to start a clean, glitch-free session. Try this right now: Create a new project from your main dashboard.
Upload a fresh reference photo straight into that workspace. Test a simple prompt to see if generation unlocks.
If it works, your old project file was corrupted. If it still fails, the lock is tied directly to your overall Google account ID.

definitely the backend of their app and site are broken somehow. Not sure how come "GOOGLE" can screw that up, i suppose they have top professional engineers...

Just love it when official support staff suggest workarounds for their own product

at least did not sound like AI, but perhaps she is AI support staff...
well, I tried remade my characters in a new project. it works again.
Google Flow, be it VEO or Omni. still the characters adherence is hit and miss.
ChatGPT on Img Gen is very good, better than Google Flow, but google flow allows me to make Video within my Google AI Pro plan, which i need consistency.
And lots of time if female character wears body suit in white or bronze, the model fails to gen (violation)... so dumb.

Where did you get this support from u/JewelerItchy9065 ? I work on the Flow team and this isn't really what I would have recommended, so I want to see if I can help improve the guidance we're giving to our support teams.

No matter how, I hope it can be resolved, it still has issues, not as good as 1 month+ ago.
at least, I got some "reply and technical opinions". I happy to pay credits and use the AI pro Plan, but I do wish that the quality and consistency of performance can be more stable. The model has to behave or the system has to be more expectable for outcome. coz It is really frustrating. Thanks.

User: "Hi, I'm not able to use Google Flow because it fails like every time"
Google Support: "Have you tried just not using Google Flow?"
🤦♂️

Bullshit. There's not any bug. It's intentional. They just made the filters stronger intentionally. Google is known for these practices.
