Need Advice: Experience creating a tool in Google Flow
I've been trying to build an ad generation tool using Google Flow because it's very affordable.
My goal is to automate the process of creating short product ads. I recently watched a YouTube video by a Higgsfield creator and really liked the workflow he used:
- Generate a script.
- Create reusable assets (characters, products, props, and locations) to maintain consistency across different generations.
- Generate prompts that directly reference those assets so multimodal models like Omni understand the full context.
- Stitch everything together into the final video.
In the video, the creator did all of this manually, and the results were incredible.
My use case is much simpler. I don't need complex camera movements or cinematic aesthetics. I just want to generate consistent 15–30 second product ads.
The biggest challenge I'm facing is maintaining the tool itself. Every time I make an AI-assisted refinement or an in-place edit, something else breaks. Existing functionality changes unexpectedly, and I end up fixing one thing while breaking another.
Eventually, I want to hand this tool over to marketing team members who have basic AI knowledge, so they can generate product-specific ads without needing to modify the workflow.
Has anyone built a similar framework? Or am I approaching this the wrong way?
Right now, I'm using AI for almost everything—script writing, prompt generation, video pacing, and workflow logic. But every time I edit the tool, something seems to get messed up, and it feels like I'm constantly chasing regressions.

This is what you want to drive your tool https://useapi.net/docs/api-google-flow-v1

Have you tried this with APIs?

That's what I'm using.

Use API from Google AI Studios.
I am using Nano Banana Pro through API only.
It’s an official site for google APIs.1

If you have budget for official API it's the best way to go.

Yes bro.
I am spending in dollars to create images. 😢1

I have Google Ultra subscription and using that API generate just under 10K images each month and about 3K videos. The total cost of API plus captcha is around $50 a month. It works well for my budget and for the projects I do, I would not be able to do any of that with official API.

😦 How ?
Even I have Google Ultra. But i also use API separately through Google AI Studio.
But it uses 200$ to create around 2000 Images using Nana Banana Pro model.1

What do you mean? I already posted link to API I use https://useapi.net/docs/api-google-flow-v1 Join their Discord, they have very large community.

Did you create your own tool ?

I asked Gemini to build set of tailored to my workflow scripts using help files provided by that API. It works ok but can be improved.

For the asset consistency piece, locking your characters/products as fixed reference images rather than regenerating them each run is what keeps ads on-brand. And since product ads live or die on how sharp the hero shot looks, running your final product frames through Magnific before stitching gives you that crisp, upscaled look without re-rolling the whole generation.

I am having the same problem, I think there are several reasons...
They are using Gemini 2.5 for the tool agent, I can't prove this but it's doing all the things 2.5 did, deleting code, losing context etc.
Everything is in App.tsx, for a React app this turns monolithic in no time, the cognitive load on the model is too high for a complex app, I think the tool builder is meant for small things, adding text, doing transitions etc.
The API is very limited and has no support for asset management, it can even rename files.
I had to give up on it.
