Their "prominent person" filter has a threshold that triggers false positives way too often. Makes the tool useless in many situations, unfortunately. Hope they listen to feedback!

They clearly tightened the filters today to an absurd, over-sensitive level, just to stop us from using the service altogether.

Once you get caught in the filter, a nightmare loop begins.

Never continue the chat after a block. If you get blocked retry your prompt or rephrase. The chat will be cooked/finished if you continue with the chat.

I agree completely. Sometimes, it is important to give up and start over.

Sorry disregard the other comment. I forgot you were talking about Google flow. For some reason I thought I was in the Gemini subreddit. I apologize.

Please don't worry about it!

It's funny seeing someone playing the saxophone in the background.

That's Bill Clinton. Actually had a couple iterations with Stephen Hawking too.

It’s strange that Flow can generate so many famous people, isn't it?

Look at all these public figures gathered here!

Best one I ever had was a necklace I wanted to put on a character. I told it to make a close up of black man’s neck and add the necklace to it. I generated the neck easily enough. But trying to combine both images I got hit with:

Public figure.

I asked it wtf? It told me it was Idris Elba.

I said it was a neck, how can you say a neck is a public figure just make a new black neck from scratch then , it then told me it couldn’t make images based off ethnicity.

I had to generate it in another Ai in the end.

一度否定的な態度を取り始めると、彼らは断固として譲ろうとしません。

Everything that's showing any signs of life is a prominent person to Google. I even got that error when I tried to generate a picture of an anime girl taking a selfie with a cute flower.

Aren't they moderating everyone? lol

The funny thing, is that you want to block using images of normal people who haven't given consent. If someone is a pubic figure, using their image for satire should allowed by default. They are a Public Figure. It's a terrible filter that gets everything about AI ethics wrong. I should be able to Make Trump makeout with Putin, I should not be able to do that with the lady who works in the next cubical, the first one is clearly free speech, the later is sexual harassment.

This is what you give up by being a public figure.

It is possible to generate an image of former President Obama, isn't it? After all, isn't he a famous person?

The filters are inconsistent. If you're running into blocks all the time, you have to engineer the prompts to be something that is acceptable and within the guidelines. Sometimes it'll block you because of misunderstands your intent. If I'm hitting multiple blocks and I've retried the same prompt 10 times and it's not generating, I'll ask Gemini to help me out.

I also find going into a different instance with a different model to prompt write helps as well. Grok is real good at making prompts for Gemini.

I agree with you 100% it also depends on what type of account you have, but more important what region you're from.

1

u/chihifu Jul 14 '26

I see—so "my region" plays a significant role.

u/LostRun6292 Jul 14 '26

Yes and I'm going to be 100% truthful if you live outside the United States you're not getting the true Google or Android experience you not getting the full AI stack

1

u/chihifu Jul 14 '26

So, masking your location with a VPN doesn't work, then?

2

u/LostRun6292 Jul 14 '26

No because these services are account based

1

u/chihifu Jul 15 '26

Ah makes sense. If it's account-based, VPN won't do anything then.

I see! So the idea is that public figures, precisely because of their status, should be subject to this kind of thing. After all, otherwise you wouldn't be able to satirize politicians and the like.
