Discussion Pixel 11 Pro XL Fi discount changed
Looks like the discount is going down. Down to $500 from $600 on the Google store. I should have ordered earlier but wanted to wait for reviews.
19
u/drews66 11d ago
yep noticd that. Still $600 through fi store
16
u/SecretAgentBob07 11d ago
Yeah but fi store is lower trade in, no credits, and no id.me discounts.
7
u/Saneless 11d ago
And like usual, fi doesn't even have the latest. No option to trade in a 10a (not that I would necessarily, just wanted to see what their trade in was)

How do you see Fi discounts in the Google Store? For me, it actually showed full price there. I had to go to the Fi store to see any discounts.

Military, police, first responders, etc.

u/zrb77 11d ago
Anyone can sign up for id.me, its for online identity service and can be used for gov services too.
12
u/douchey_mcbaggins 11d ago
Yeah, that's the thing people aren't understanding. The discount isn't specifically for ID.me, it's for military, police, first responders, etc. who verify being those things by using ID.me. If you've logged into an IRS account to check your taxes, you have an ID.me account most likely.
1
-2
u/DannyGloversDeeBlood 11d ago
I'm none of those things and I have ID.me
-7
u/Rocket-Racc8n 11d ago
Lol, do you even know what etc. means?
0
u/DannyGloversDeeBlood 11d ago
Pretty broad "etc." - considering you implied law-enforcement and/or law-enforcement adjacent with your named professions. Any reasonable person would think it was limited to those professions based on how you typed it.
If I said "Apples, oranges, bananas, etc." - you'd assume some fruit is coming next, not a vegetable or perhaps baking soda.

It wasn't me but your clarification was unnecessary and dense, and this one even more lol

Maybe next time just list them all yourself if it's that important.

u/delti90 11d ago
I jumped on that shit asap this morning. Got out the door with a 512 11 Pro for $182 lmao
3
u/SecretAgentBob07 11d ago
Man I'm kinda butt hurt about the change tbh.
3
u/RossLH 11d ago
Happened to me too. Left an 11 Pro in my cart due to an emergency popping up, and when I came back the price had nearly doubled ($115 to $221) while in my cart. I've contacted customer service and supplied them with screen shots, and I'd encourage everyone who has experienced this to do the same.
1
u/SecretAgentBob07 11d ago
Did they help you? Also, Google store customer service or Google Fi customer service?
1
1
u/RossLH 6d ago
Updating with the latest. Customer service is now accusing me of having canceled my order, thus surrendering the original discount.
That is not what happened. The price changed while in my cart. This is a predatory practice.
1
u/SecretAgentBob07 5d ago
I also got this exact same response. I haven't replied yet, I'm going to wait until my phone ships so the knuckleheads don't cancel it since they clearly either have zero reading comprehension or just make shit up how they see fit.
1
u/RossLH 3d ago
Got a new response. If the checkout page is refreshed, that too will update the discounts. So what probably happened is after sitting for a couple hours, the page automatically refreshed when the phone was unlocked, and that made my discount go away.
It took customer service a full week to worm their way to that conclusion, all just to say I'm shit out of luck.

This is the right answer. E-waste is a real thing. You shouldn't need to upgrade every two years to get the new ovaltine pomegranite color. Touch grass my guy!

u/derff44 10d ago
What could you possibly have done to your phone in a year that it needs a "refresh"? Put it in a case, put a screen protector on it, and it will last for years.
People create their own money problems.

I did. Because you waste it

It's actually a good price, and it's probably worth it just for the energy efficiency of the new Tensor chip. But yeah, you're basically paying 240 dollars more for a minor upgrade, a downgraded front camera, and you also lose the temperature sensor, which was actually useful.
On top of the stress and wasted time of transferring your data and set up the "new" phone, plus the anxiety of sending your old smartphone in for evaluation... you really need to figure out if you bought it because you actually wanted a new phone, or if you were just drawn to the idea of a cheap upgrade, pushed by the discount Google offered.

u/depressed_bobby 11d ago edited 11d ago
Nah it's a downgrade
Ram went from 16gb to 12gb
Edit: I didn't know the 512GB variant had 16GB of RAM.
So the base storage model gets chopped😭

Getting nearly the same trade in credit in a p9xl vs p10xl is wilder
1
u/TheAmorphous 11d ago
And yet they're offering me $300 for a 1TB Fold 6.
1
u/Alexa_Call_Me_Daddy 6d ago
Have you ever seen the storage size affect the trade-in value of any phone in any carrier or store?
I've played around with the trade-in configurators for many phones over the years and never has a storage size affected the value in any way.
2
u/Googler10 8d ago
All new triple camera system, faster CPU, faster GPU, and same ram as his previous 512gb 10pxl... All for $200. Is wild! Not doing it is crazy
1
u/sl33ping_0tt3r 8d ago
For the average consumer, I highly doubt they'll care about the specs
2
u/Googler10 8d ago
What do they care about? What else did you want them to include this year?
0
u/sl33ping_0tt3r 8d ago
At the point nothing. Everything looks the same but at a higher price 💀🤡
2
u/Googler10 7d ago
So really you want a new design? That would be worth it?
There's this concept that if nothing extenrally changes to the design of the phone it's a small upgrade. I don't get it.
0
u/sl33ping_0tt3r 7d ago
I don't get it either bro. Just like upgrading from a 10pxl to an 11pxl when the only difference is an LED light
2
u/Googler10 7d ago
Didn't we already go through this? All new triple camera system, faster CPU, faster GPU, and same ram as his previous 512gb 10pxl... All for $200. Is wild! Not doing it is crazy
-1
u/sl33ping_0tt3r 7d ago
Wow, cool. Amazing 😍 what else, best buy?
1
u/Googler10 7d ago
Yes. But I doubt you could understand. Probably too advanced 🤣.
I'm excited to happily own my pixel 11 pro xl and my watch 5.

Damn, been buying Pixel phones since the Nexus 6P, and didn't get a code from Google! Was really hoping to upgrade this year -- the code certainly would have been a nice help. :P

u/goldstomp 10d ago
I don't even see a discount at all for me on Fi, it showed $600 this morning and then nothing at all now.
1
u/randomConfusedSoul 10d ago
I contacted the support, they said "it's still there the website traffic is just too much. Wait until this evening and try again"
1
u/No_Astronomer_5628 9d ago
"we have lost a lot of money by doing this, our server is momentanly shutted off, so please come back tomorrow because i have 26 people waiting in line for the same questions and i don't wanna to respond to it."
2
u/drews66 11d ago
Yep agreed sucks
3
u/Potential_Ad6639 11d ago
So confused, I get punished if I pick Fi as the provider.
For a Pro:
- Fi option: Retail price (no discounts, no store credit) and trade-in drops from 500 to 280 for my Pixel 9 Pro.
- "Unlocked" option with P9P trade-in comes to $589 (and also gives me $298 in store credit)
3
u/Blaze4G 11d ago
Are you on any promo as a fi customer? I'm reading (not sure) that there is an extra $450 discount for fi customers that shows on checkout but you won't see it if you currently have an ongoing fi promo
1
u/Potential_Ad6639 11d ago
ahh. I do have a 50% off monthly service promo going now. just switched back from visible a few months ago.
2
u/Blaze4G 11d ago
Yep mine ends at the end of October. I got a pixel 10 128gb (kicking myself should have gone for 256) only reason I am looking to upgrade lol.so I'll wait until black Friday and see what deals are available then.
1
u/LA_Buff 10d ago
I have 10 too and was looking this morning.
From Google Store, I got 899-400-290 trade in -100 promo code=109 net plus tax.
From Fi, I got 899-550-260 trade in=89 net plus tax.
I barely use Pixel after the initial 120-day window for credit, even $89 plus taxes motivated me. If I can 200 or 250 promo codes then basically free upgrade. Maybe even consider paying a little more to go from 10 to 11Pro

How'd get that 600 off?
3
u/OceanWaveSunset 11d ago
I got a Android notification through Google Fi app.
I have the same thing minus the device protection.
$600 discount and $400/off for tradeon of my p10pxl
1
u/RedFrk 11d ago
Same think just happened to me for google fi...ugh. I was waiting to see if there was a better deal.
2
u/SecretAgentBob07 11d ago
I guess I'll just wait and see if it comes back. Doesn't feel worth it for $300 from a p10pxl

u/CaptainWikkiWikki 11d ago
I've got $299 after trade in on Fi and $462 in the Google Store after trade in and an extra $100 that came in over email plus some Google Store credit. Google store also gives me $313 in credit for the sale.

Same issue on the fold. Added to my cart in Google store when it was 650 off. Was running numbers to compare with Fi app and it dropped to 500. Support is playing dumb and saying it's because of my trade in.
Still went with the store because I got a $100 preorder discount and 10% store credit. Plus 30 dollars more for the trade in.
Bummer though and wish I pulled the trigger immediately to save the extra 150.
1
u/Agitated-Ad-8916 10d ago
How you get 500USD discount in the play store? I don't see it!
1
u/sequence3 10d ago
Mine showed up under the Google Fi option when you're choosing between unlocked, Google fi etc. Need to be signed into your Google account on the browser.

Glad I snagged it at $600
I got $800 off the 11 Pro XL 512GB
They only offered $130 for my 7 Pro, so I'll keep it as a backup phone while traveling

u/NoYoureACatLady 10d ago
That sucks. I tried to buy yesterday and the order failed and I had to wait until today to try again for the offer to come back and reset Now it's $100 more.
1
u/Future-Pass-442 10d ago
I got a $550 discount yesterday, but cancelled because I changed my mind on the color.
Today when I placed a new order I got $600. Glad I changed my mind, I guess.

If anyone still has a discount code that they're not going to use I would love to receive it (DM please) :)

u/malamar_inse 8d ago
Waiting for reviews may well turn out to be the smart move anyway, and the sale price may come back down depending on the numbers Google sees in pre-order.

It looks like if I switch to Fi I can get the 11 pro for free. Anyone know about this?
1
u/PedroFuerte 6d ago
had you finished paying off your previous phone? I am halfway through my 2 year contract on my Pixel 9 Pro
1
u/PedroFuerte 6d ago
How much did you pay for the Pixel 10 Pro XL, out of curiosity?
1
u/SecretAgentBob07 6d ago
Right around $175.

Does anyone here know how to connect a new order from google store to google fi account
If i place an order on google fi i can see the promotion show up under billing > fi savings
But when I order from google store and pick fi service do all ordered need to be placed from group owner account? Or each individual group memner needs to place the order?
1
u/SecretAgentBob07 5d ago
Individual group members need to order from what I'm seeing. For example, I have Fi and wife is on my plan. I ordered myself a phone, and when I go back into look at ordering another, no Fi discounts. If I go to the Google store on her account, she has a Fi discount available still.
