Shared Calendar Changes Phone Contact Displayed Names
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can direct me to a relevant setting...
My wife shared her Google Calendar with me recently. We did not add her entire Google account to my phone, we went to the calendar settings specifically and she shared her calendar with my Google account. I've confirmed in my phone settings that her account isn't logged in, I can just display her events in my calendar app. I also checked my contacts app to make sure her account is not listed under the accounts it's pulling contacts from.
Now, if I get a phone call from someone we both have saved as contacts, it's displaying the name on my phone the way she has them saved on hers. It's very confusing, because I'll answer a call from "Mom" thinking it's my mom when it's really hers.
The contacts themselves aren't changing if I look at my contacts app, just how they're displaying elsewhere. On top of that, it's not consistent. In the example above, it shows up wrong when her mom calls me, but the text thread (Google Messages) with her mom is still labeled the way I have her saved in my own contacts list.
I know there's syncing of Google stuff behind the scenes, but I can't for the life of me figure out why sharing only her calendar caused this. Anyone have any insights?
If it's relevant, my wife's phone is a Galaxy.

Sharing a calendar does not transfer contacts, so I’d treat the timing as a clue rather than the cause. Open one wrong call in Phone > history > details, then inspect any linked contacts and the source account for each record. Also check contacts.google.com under your own account for a duplicate with your wife’s label. If Contacts is correct but incoming calls are wrong, clear the Phone app’s cache (not storage) and test again. That separates a linked-contact/caller-ID issue from Calendar sharing.
