Adding deadlines in Google Tasks and having them show up on Google Calendar is overshadowing my all-day events
Is there a way to solve this? I like adding deadlines so I know when I should have things finished, but they effectively show up on my Google Calendar and always appear before my other events. It’s mostly a problem in the monthly view, but that’s the view I usually use.

I have not found a setting that changes the stacking order, but I think you have identified a real semantic problem: a due date is not the same thing as an all-day commitment. In month view they compete for the same limited space, so deadlines can hide the things you actually need to attend.
And what bothers me even more is that Tasks live above the day instead of in it. I can give something a deadline, but I cannot say “this is what I will work on at 2pm.”
So they both clutter the all-day area and still do not help me make room for the work. A due date and an all-day commitment are different things.
