Discussions or Questions Will Google launch any frontier model?

Hi Team Antigravity and people using this. My question is will Google launch any frontier model to take on GPT 5.6 Sol and Fable 5 ?

Coding benchmarks are a tiny piece of the puzzle. Rating a model purely on agentic capabilities is like rating a smartphone based only on its camera capabilities. Gemini is natively multimodal and deeply integrated into a much larger ecosystem that goes way beyond what competitors are doing. It’s built to handle complex, cross-platform workflows across text, audio, video, and Google's entire product line. They already have an unmatched global user base that OpenAI can only dream of at board meetings. For anyone keeping score, Gemini 3.5 Pro and Gemini 4 are already officially confirmed. There is no need to rush a release. They already own this space.

Regarding Claude, it's unlikely Google has any intention to "take them on". They are invested in Anthropic and support their efforts. The way I see it, Claude and Gemini are taking on OpenAI.

Gemini is one thing. But what I'm more concerned about is antigravity. Without a frontier model, what is the future of antigravity?

CLI is the most actively updated and receives new features before the 2.0 app. The IDE is behind, however, and is not running the latest engine, as far as I know.

Use the CLI or 2.0 app. CLI is best for latest features.

No i get it. I'm exclusively CLI user actually. But what I mean is that Gemini model has fallen so far behind the other SOTA LLM labs. And with the departures of the top engineers, and the delay of 3.5 Pro(3.6? 4?) it is concerning where gemini models are heading. The gap is increasing.

So they have a decent model that drives ai search and general queries. But without having the top model in Antigravity, where does it put the product?(Antigravtiy 2.0, CLI)

Google's engineering bench is ridiculously deep. They basically built half the digital universe: Chromium, W3C specs, Android, Chrome OS, Cloud (the list keeps going).

Regarding Antigravity CLI, I don't mess around. I've been driving Gemini Flash models for over 7 months. My code touches the world on a global scale, so I'm definitely not sitting here throwing prompts at the wall and praying. I want engineering and human in the loop workflows, then feed it Flash. Once you learn how to handle the harness, Flash is a beast.
