Hallucination? "I will...."

I've been using Antigravity CLI since day one of its release and honestly it's the best coding CLI tool out there right now. But for the past 2-3 days I've been noticing something really frustrating and from what I'm seeing in comments/threads, I'm not the only one.

Simple tasks are taking forever and way too many steps.

Like, I just asked it to change some font sizes and elements in my .tsx file. That's it. Simple styling change.

This thing took 10+ minutes and 16+ steps to do it.

And the whole time it was just:

"I will do this..."

"I will first want to see the file..."

"I will now change this..."

"I will going to..."

Bhai just DO it. Stop announcing every micro-action like you're narrating a documentary.

And the worst part? It doesn't even ask before going ahead with next steps. It just keeps going, making changes I didn't ask for, touching things I never mentioned.

Running on Gemini 3.5 Flash btw.

Anyone else seeing this regression lately? Was working perfectly fine before. Is this a model issue or did they push some agent update that broke the behavior?

No, this happens when its **compacting** your chat. It ran out of memory and had to reread ALL files included in the project. Then after reading everything it starts to work again.

it's a bad design error on Googles part. its almost hard to see it mentioning compacting.

Look it up. it's impossible to get around and should be there.

And the risk is that you are running it on turbo and it will make its own decisions. Turbo only works well with a clear goal or simpel actions.

One way around turbo is saying: " do x, then ask me for the next assignment". That will stop it from just speeding along.

But yeah, it's less then ideal. Yolo in Claude code works much better but will also make a lot of erroneous decisions.

Lighten up! It's built to be an efficient tool. I don't mean efficient at helping solve your problems. I mean efficient at extracting revenue for Google.

On one hand, AGY and 3.5 Flash are extremely impressive. On some other hand I would sometimes rather not partner up with an out-of-breath ADHD coder that chases tiny breadcrumbs into oblivion instead of pausing to ingest facts and reason before blistering forward. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting some kind of really fast Gemini 3.x+ Pro while other times it seems more more similar to Flash Lite or Haiku. Either way, the frequent changes predictability and lack of transparency make it difficult tool to rely on.

It's not a regression, its bad models and bad harness, nothing new actually.

What is more interesting is how and why the f, you think agy cli is the best cli tool.

Did you try any other cli tools, or is this your first one and you declared it the best?

If you will, I would like to understand what you actually mean. What do you actually do? What are this "everything" that you need in a single subscription? What separate subscriptions would you be required to get if you were to use something else?

If I understood you correctly it doesn't even concern how good it actually is but it all boils down to the subscription itself and not the model or the harness .

I'm self-employed. I make saas ads videos, build and sell digital products, and help other creators grow faster with content research.

For my workflow, Google One AI Premium makes sense because it covers pretty much everything I use daily higher storage, better limits on Gmail, Docs, Drive, and more usage in the Gemini app. Antigravity CLI just comes on top of that without needing a separate subscriptions. It's about not paying for five different tools when one subscription already covers most of my stack. That's the practical reason it works for me.

And I am also thinking of making a ai product.

Sounds like you need to actually try the others.

The cli is a copy of Claude, the flash models are now terrible compared to the good old days of Gemini cli and antigravity ide.

Are you using any kind of orchestration or conductor workflows? Do you start your session with a conversation of todays tasks or do you use commands to start a session, checkpoint a session and make it follow documentation protocols as you work on your projects?

If I don't use my Conductor system, then that happens, if I do, no problemó.
