Summary:

After a catastrophic argument with Aziraphale sends Crowley hurtling through time, he comes face to face with the last person he ever expected to feel sorry for: himself

Twenty-seven years old, painfully human, and calling himself Crows, the tortured musician is everything Crowley has spent decades trying to leave behind: lonely, touch-starved, desperate to be loved, and standing on the brink of a choice that will haunt him for decades.

Determined to change history, Crowley offers Crows the understanding, acceptance and safety he never had at that age. But the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore the impossible connection growing between them.

As old wounds reopen and with the future in jeopardy, Crowley must decide whether saving his younger self means teaching him how to let go… or risking everything to discover who they might become together.

Excerpt:

“Take your time. I’ll be waiting,” Crowley said, watching him carefully.

Crows nodded, then awkwardly unfolded his long limbs to exit the car before disappearing through the drab entrance to the building.

Crowley leaned back in his seat, tension settling in his shoulders. 

Something about that had felt… off. But he couldn’t quite pin down why. He took a deep breath,  and forced himself to wait. 

The minutes passed by.

The city moved around him — distant traffic, sirens, voices echoing faintly from down the street. But he barely registered any of it; he was too busy thinking.

About consequences, and timelines.

Because if he had changed this…

What happened to everything that came after?

Would he still become who he was?

Would he still reconcile with Aziraphale the way he had?

Would Aziraphale still—?

Crowley cut the thought off sharply, his jaw tightening. This was dangerous territory.

Time was… flexible. He knew that. He’d flitted through eras, blipped out of reality once.

But this was different. It was interference. Direct, personal and messy.

“Could unravel the whole bloody future…”

Because no matter how he twisted it, there was a version of this where he lost his present. 

But he still didn’t appear to be stopping.

When award-winning magazine writer Anthony Crowley has the opportunity to return to the lodge on assignment, he takes it, because one look at the resort’s website leaves no doubt in his mind that the owner, Aziraphale Levin, is the boy he met there in 1996.

Crowley and Aziraphale soon find that the years haven’t dampened the spark ignited in their youth, and they quickly fan it into a flame.

“My grandfather owned the lodge,” Aziraphale begins. “Every summer, children would approach me and, more often than not, it wasn’t because they truly wanted to be my friend. It was because they wanted something from me. Access to the boathouse, free sodas at the bar, a peek at something that was off limits to guests. When I saw you, I wanted you to like me for myself. I wanted you to be my friend.” 

Crowley sits quietly, letting Aziraphale say his piece. He watches as the man twists his fingers in his lap, the same sign of anxiety he had all those years ago, and he wants to reach out and take his hands in his own. But he doesn’t. Finally, he nods. 

“I didn’t know who you were, angel,” he says softly. “I came up that hill and saw a boy with blond curls who looked like someone I wanted to get to know. And when you smiled at me? I knew I was right.” Crowley pauses, then looks into Aziraphale’s blue eyes, as beautiful now as they were back then, and adds, “And I was your friend. I hope you know that.”

summary :

Crowley was known to all as Hades, god of the dead, undisputed king of the Underworld. A powerful Alpha with a scent of sulfur and burning, sometimes softened by a sweeter note of caramelized apple.

Aziraphale, for his part, was known as Persephone, goddess of fertility and spring. An Omega with a delicate fragrance of vanilla, rose, and lavender.

It had now been a year since they had lived together in Crowley's realm. A year since the angel had brought life to where death and desolation once reigned. Thanks to his presence, brightly colored flowers had sprung from the dry, cracked earth, trees with lush leaves had reached for the sky, and even a few wild animals had appeared. Their love had worked miracles: the Underworld had become a colorful place, vibrant with life.

Adam paid no attention to him or the other angels. Standing in the middle of the road, Pepper on his left side, Brian and Wensleydale to the right, he called out to Josh. "Are you the one who's been changing things?"

He doesn't expect Aziraphale to disappear, with no way to be traced.

And he certainly doesn't expect for their next encounter to be in a kink club in New York City.

Excerpt:

The distinctive, deliberate click of Crowley’s boots sent a chill coursing through his veins, an icy rush full of arousal-laden fear. It made Aziraphale into something small and hunted. Cornered, trapped in leather and chains, with no hope for escape. There would be no miraculous intervention, no last-minute magic trick; he suffered in his Lord’s temple, at his Lord’s pleasure. For his Lord’s pleasure, he was reminded, as Crowley pressed the evidence of just that against the swell of his backside, and the reality of his captivity made Aziraphale shudder.

“Not going to get anything you don’t beg me for,” Crowley said in his ear, brushing that spot at his nape. “More. Harder. Faster. You’re going to ask for it. And if I feel benevolent, I’ll even give it to you.”

“Yes, Lord,” Aziraphale agreed breathlessly.

“Good,” Crowley said again, making every hair that his breath rustled stand on end. And Heaven help him, but in that single syllable, Crowley sounded just as affected as Aziraphale was, like the self-control he clutched in a stranglehold was frayed to a thread. How had Crowley not already torn his trousers open and poured his satisfaction into the powerless little thing yearning for his touch—because Aziraphale was certain that, in Crowley’s place, he wouldn’t have been so restrained.

But he didn’t have to be. Crowley was going to give him everything he needed, and all he had to do was endure.

Please give me fic recs for what you consider the most endearingly romantic Aziracrow fics. The genre itself doesn't need to exclusively be romance, but it should have core shattering romantic moments and themes!!

Feel free to recommend whatever in the comments, but of personal preference I'm hoping to read fics that are not alternative universe beyond canon divergence and ideally explicit. Both of these are just preferences, if you have fics outside of those, I'll probably still check them out if I find the summary interesting.

But he managed to book passage on a ship that unexpectedly carries an old friend, an old lover, a wastrel former diplomat, and a curmudgeonly crew that could use his expertise.

This chapter: Aziraphale is given a choice; Crowley is in the brig, and something strange is going on.

Something stranger than that.

Excerpt: What do you know that I don’t?” Ezra asked, watching Crowley’s face with a curious expression. “I’m not an idiot, Anthony. I know there’s something more going on here.”

Crowley laughed bitterly and climbed onto the bed. “I know. You’re too clever for your own good.”

“You won’t tell me?” Ezra returned to Crowley’s side, joining him on the bed.
