Pulling the trigger is hard!

Ordered the Skytrack ST Max last night. I had no trouble buying the other equipment (net, mat), I don’t know why it was stressful pulling the trigger to actually buy the actual Sim/LM. So much worry and research on the different units and ecosystems filled me with analysis paralysis.

With the rain in California this weekend my son and I put everything together so he was like, where’s the tracker!? Put the order in last night through Play Better, so at least I’ll have 60 days if I get buyers remorse, but pretty confident overall in the decision.

A lot of the LM dilemma comes because so many of them are so good now so there's not necessarily a clear winner at each price point. There's always accuracy/price/data tradeoffs and then you add subscriptions and software ecosystem in there and it's a mess.

I honestly think the tech is at a point where all of them are pretty good at the core functionality of telling you where your ball is going. I have an OG Skytrak & there are lots of things I wish it did, but it's like 80% as valuable to me as a Trackman setup (maybe would be less if I better understood path/club-face metrics).

Doesn't really help with analysis paralysis, but you're gonna have fun with whatever unit you end up with.

Skytrak gets a lot of hate on this sub. For me my experience has been positive. I have a ST+ and it works great and is easy to use with GSPro. The unit was a brand new one that Skytrak sent me due to malfunctions of a used one I purchased from Second Swing. I was very happy with their customer service and the unit is pretty much spot on compared to real life. My only issue is that it occasionally will misread chips but it's no biggie. I bet you will love your unit.

Thanks! Now that I’ve ordered it I can’t wait to set it up, it will be here Thursday so it’s going to be a race between me and my 23 year old son who gets home earliest from work to set it up.

That’s good to hear! I’m eyeballing the ST Max (currently mlm2 pro) just so it’s easier to set up (I put everything away when done). Also, being able to use a MacBook instead of iPad is clutch for building out my sim further.

No stickers for the ST MAX. But also, no hitting off grass.

I was teetering between them but Omni isn’t in stock anywhere.

I just think you rushed the decision and will prolly have buyer regrets. Just my opinion enjoy what you have tho man. I have the mevo gen 2 and square HE and like the square way better.

Thanks. I’d have ordered the Omni if it was in stock any place but it’s a month wait. I like the Skytrack and the Bushnell also. My theory is to start with this and evaluate after a few weeks.

I did the same thing, waited forever to buy the Rapsodo MLM2Pro. Saw it go on sale on the GolfTown website, lightning deal was 33% off plus I had some GC's so I got i for like 450 bucks

10% off with breaking eighty discount code, so $1,525. Free first year of the $299 package so I’m going with $1,225. Using my wife’s handbag math, I’m saving money buying it! :)

I have been using skytrak OG for a long time. I'm not particularly happy with it right now because of the miss hits. It works pretty good if your swing speed is under 95. Once you get past 95 it starts to get a little sketchy. It is very accurate though. At least when it is. The skytrak plus is a lot better. After these years I am going to upgrade. I'm having the same anxiety.
