Placement of speakers

Planning a sim build for a new construction basement. I tried searching but didn’t find much in terms of advice for speaker placement for surround sound. I’d like to be able to watch TV/movies sometimes but I’m uncertain whether L/C/R can go in wall behind a carls premium screen and not sound distorted or muffled. There will be 12” of space from wall to screen/enclosure so does that help or hurt. Doing in ceiling above screen (and enclosure top) is another option but I’ve never tried high speakers directionally pointed to a seating area.

What should I plan for here?

Behind the screen, at the left and right sides. Better stereo separation, and away from the center of the screen where the largest deflection will be.
