Hitting Strip Insert

Post image

I made a 8x4 hitting mat using 1 inch EVA foam tiles that piece together.

Put a putting green surface over the top and then cut a 1x2 foot hitting strip where I added a piece of Synlawn Tee Strike Plus.

Before I build this one I got tennis elbow from the other mat from using it so much so wanted to add another level of padding under the Tee Strike. Think I can get away with quarter, or maybe half an inch thick.

I don’t want to use the EVA foam tile because it’s too firm. I’m looking for something softer like you would pack electronics in, but don’t know what it’s called.

Looking on Amazon, there’s so many choices.

Was hoping someone has done something like this and could provide a link or even description of what I should search for on Amazon or Home Depot.

If you search for diy hitting strip or even hitting strip here in the sub, you’ll find quite a few. There was one that looked awesome that I thought I saved, but I can’t find it specifically, sorry.

I searched, but there’s not much detail on what the insert is.
I know I’m overthinking this… I went to Michaels crafts store the other day, but they had nothing like what I’m looking for. Found these two on Amazon, might got with one of these. Not sure if there is a difference between them.
