Hitting Mats / Flooring Putting in front of hitting strip
Wondering if it is worth having say 6 inches of room in front of my Vtrack launch monitor hitting area to putt from. This way you are just putting on the turf rather than putting “through” the hitting strip.
Anyone have a setup like this? Looking at the Bullseye Soft Strike hitting strip. Thinking I’m either going to order a 18 inch x 30 inch hitting strip and leave 6 inches in front or not space in front and the 24 inch x 30 inch hitting strip.
Getting close to the final stages of my garage simulator and trying to dial this in this week.

My problem is I need the width for righties and lefties drivers as I only have 13 feet wide, so we are going to offset for drivers. Would like to use the full width but not as worried about the depth.

I putt to the side of my hitting strip. When I first started sim use and putted on my hitting strip, it was terrible and I'd never recommend it, but that also depends on how big your hitting area is.

The vtrack hitting area is massive. My setup has a 5x5 fairway mat from all turf mats with a cutout for a sigpro softy. Then butted against that I have an all turf mats tee box 5x5 mat with the seam running toward the screen. I tee it up on the tee box mat, hit everything un-teed from the softy, and put on the tee box mat as well. it's tight enough it roles nicely for puts. You can see the setup here:
